The left loves to post Warren Buffett and parrot what he says as the way things should be done.

well he just came out and made the same statement that other people have already acknowledged.
a $15 minimum wage will hurt middle income families.

His idea is to expand the EIC.

Warren buffet needs to eat his nest egg and die of compaction.

Re: Warren Buffett Don't raise the minimum wage

How about raising the minimum wage and also investing in education?

wait now the left quotes buffett like a hawk on everything else he says. from more taxes to everything else, but as soon as he goes yea it is pretty stupid to raise the minimum wage to 15. the left now throws a fit over it.

or they get an education then they don't have to get paid minimum wage. that is how millions of other people even today do it.
I made minimum wage 1 time in my life and that was after I graduated high school and I never made it again.

I'm not the left, I've no more use for Warren Buffet than I have for David Koch.

Thats nice. So how about free universal higher public education/technical college?

You set up a condition where the majority of the free education users become the new minimum wage class. Water seeks it's own level. Anyone, no matter how poor, who has the capability and the drive, can get into and through a for payment college or technical school. Yes, they'll most likely graduate with significant debt, but that is nothing new (ask any white collar professional from any generation). But they'll also graduate with the capability to service that debt AND to have a long higher paying career.

I'm not among those who quote Buffett but are you saying that if someone agrees with a person on some things they must agree with that person on all things?

Re: Warren Buffett Don't raise the minimum wage

ITT right-wingers support greater "redistribution of wealth" because it goes against different liberal goal.

Well, when you virtually deify his financial acumen at every turn and he speaks using said financial "wisdom", yeah, you're pretty much on the hook.

Re: Warren Buffett Don't raise the minimum wage

Oh, for God's sake. How about just teaching them to READ?

Children or DP forums posters?

"Virtually deify his financial acumen at every turn?"

No. Nobody does that. What an absurd characterization.

Re: Warren Buffett Don't raise the minimum wage

If the MW were to be raised to $15/hr tomorrow, or even by the end of the year, it would cause some disruptions in the low value business market. This is why a gradual increase has continued to prevent potential shock, more so than it has kept minimum wages up with inflation.

It's precisely what liberals do when Buffet talks the smack they want to hear. You denying that is laughable.

Uh huh. And when a conservative agrees with something a conservative says, it's reasoned opinion based on facts and whatnot.

We already have the government in control of 12 years of failed public education. Leave colleges alone.

Liberals should be apologizing for what they have done to schools in this country. :(

Re: Warren Buffett Don't raise the minimum wage

I think many agree $15 is too high. That would cause massive job loss but a raise to $9 or perhaps even $10 over a 4 or 5 year period is reasonable. I think many asking for the $15 are hoping to "compromise" for a $10 wage when that is what they've wanted all along.

Our public school system needs work but to blame a political ideology solely accountable for such a complex problem like the whole education system is, quite frankly, laughable.

I agree I think Warren Buffett says a lot of really non-intelligent things for a guy as smart as he is.
I just thought it was funny in this case as the left parrots this guy around left and right.

now he is saying the opposite that we shouldn't raise the minimum wage that it hurts workers. basically the opposite of what we have been
hearing.

why does it have to be free. they can work just like everyone else does.

Why? Your side controls education. Your side gets the money from the teachers unions that keep crappy teachers employed. Your side despises school choice. Its really sad.

Liberals need to apologize for turning the best school system in the world into the 30th....its pathetic how far we have fallen.

Yes. Because that is exactly how it works
