mcdonald's owners are the highest, and they on average are around 240k nationwide as an average

now when you consider the investments they made, none of those are "making bank" as you called it
There are no investments they are making, btw.

umm yes it was working up the ladder. you actually have to go out and network.
    you know WORK.

my daughter is learning that now and so is my son in school. you work hard you get good grades.
you put effort in something and you get special awards
you put effort in something and you get picked for special events.

they both had books they had to write for their classes. My son did a book on sharks and my daughter manatee's.
both their books are going to the county for a book judging contest.

last year my daughter placed 2nd in the county in her class.
I have a feeling this year one of them is going to place 1st or second.

Well, I guess that's how people who don't know how to make it happen can look at it. Others see someone who thought they could do better, and did.

    did the building magically appear?

was the franchise fee free, or paid with good looks?

did the equipment that the store uses come from Santa Claus?

Sure there is, chief among them is that it is a minimum wage position and if you haven't distinguished yourself in a year, enough to get promoted, minimum wage is all you're worth to them. Why raise costs and possibly impact your competiveness for individuals who cannot prove themselves worth any more than a training wage.

The deposits, which I ran every night and helped do the ordering for in the store (weekly or twice weekly orders) showed a pretty healthy margin. Then again, I didn't see the labor costs but the "owners" weren't exactly poorly off for the area I was in. It was a smaller town, but their business was far from slow.
No, your demonstrated lack of business knowledge is what makes your personal opinion on this worthless. There are many more elements to overhead and costs than what you had access to or even noticed. You know franchisees pay a franchise fee, right? They also pay a percentage. You don't know the debt burden of the owners or a thousand other factors in running a fast food place. Btw, I was the Operations Manager for a franchisee who had eight Dominos stores.

Nobody should be working full time trying to raise a family or even support themselves with a career as a fry cook at a fast food restaurant. Nobody.

    *sigh*

Why does everyone automatically go the extreme end of things when a statement is made?

I'm well aware of the start up costs of a franchisee for Mc D's, per usual you guys ignore that its a fixed price for the startup and as the location makes money those "investments" which are mostly loans from the government do go away.

Its almost as if some people haven't started from scratch before.

Most of the costs to pay people more money are negligible. There are plenty of studies around that show how little impact it would have on the costs of items would be if were to raise the minimum wage in places where it is needed. IE Cali, WA, FL, etc.

There it is again, calling people stupid for no reason. Well done, good sir, this is a fine example of the problem

Good for you. Glad you were able to get that job, but did you work from the bottom up? If not, no need to comment back, that pretty much explains your disdain for other people who were unable to attain the job you want them to.

I do not support businesses using the government to supplement their poor wages, especially ones that like to tax dodge.

when someone makes an asinine statement, others are bound to make corrections on it

just how fast do you suppose paying off a million dollar loan goes?

suffice it to say, that MOST fast food franchise owners arent making bank

    making a profit? yes

otherwise, why go into business in the first place?
