ISIS seizes key Iraqi city of Ramadi as government forces pull back

They are the only ones that have our back there.....without looking to put something sharp into it. Still ISIS and all connected to them, is everyones problem. Everyone needs to get into the game. EA Sports like.

Or let them make martyrs of themselves, Shia Militia and ISIL.
Iran now has a lock on Iraq.

al Sadr was always against us being there. Always was tied to Iran. Has over a 100k with his militia alone. Sadr will jump when Sistani says to.

Right now they are concerned about protecting the Holy Mosque in Samarra. So they wont be using that group of Shia.

Sistani is old but smart and respected by the Shia. Who is replacing him?
Khomeini in Iran is not recognized as an Ayatollah by many Shia clerics.
That honorific is earned, not taken as he did.

True enough MMC, let me tell you what I knew then. Between the time of the 9/11 attacks, and the invasion of Iraq, plenty of information was surfacing in news reports, in radio interviews as I listened to NPR daily as well as political talk shows.

In May of 2001 Afghanistan intercepts warn that Al Qaeda could attack American targets but the WH counterterrorism security group doesn't meet to discuss the prospect.

On June 9, 2001 Robert Wright, FBI agent wrote a memo to FBI headquarters complaining that the FBI's international terrorism unit is making no effort to neutralize known international terrorists living in the US.

July 10, 2001 Phoenix FBI field agent Ken Williams sends a memo to FBI headquarters warning that there are 10 middle eastern men taking flight lessons and may be interested in infiltrating civil aviation as pilots or security guards.

July 16, 2001 British spy agencies warn that Al Qaeda is in the final stages of preparing an attack on western targets involving multiple airplane highjackings.

Late July 2001 David Schippers, conservative Chicago lawyer and chief investigator for the House Judiciary Committee claimed that Illinois and Minnesota FBI agents told him that a terrorist attack is going to occur in lower Manhatton and that they had been developing extensive information on the planned attack for months.

August 2001, three weeks before the 9/11 attacks, security at the WTC was abruptly heightened.

August 6, 2001 Bush receives 11 page report which included a warning about attacks with planes. The report title is "Bin Laden determined to strike in the US.

August 2001 FBI agent Colleen Rowley delivers a 13 page memo to Robert Mueller complaining that the FBI is ignoring direct warnings from French intelligence about pending attacks and accuses the FBI of deliberate sabotage in rewriting her affidavit for a search warrant of Mousaouis lap top.

August 2001 counter terrorism expert John Oneill quits the FBI because of repeated obstruction of his investigation into Al Qaeda.

August 2001 Vladimir Putin orders Russian intelligence to warn the US government in the strongest possible terms of immanent attacks on airports and government buildings including the Pentagon with 25 terrorists that suicide pilots have been training for the attacks, and on the 12th of September a Russian newspaper claims that Russian intelligence knows who the organizers of the attacks are.

September 10, 2001 Police say that a sixth grade student of middle eastern decent in Jersey City warns his teacher to stay away from lower Manhatton because something bad was going to happen.

September 10, 2001 San Francisco Mayor Willie Brown says his airport security called him to say that Americans should be cautious of air travel.

September 11, 2001 employees of Israel's largest instant messaging company receive threat warnings of an imminent attack on the WTC.

September 17, 2001 CBS 60 minutes announces that Bush's close associates suddenly and inexplicably sell all their airline stocks.

January 29, 2002 Bush Personally asks Tom Daschle to limit the investigations into the 9/11 attacks.

I also found it beyond coincident that the two men who might have prevented the Patriot Act from coming to a vote, Tom Daschle and Patrick Leahy, both of whom had reservations about the bill, had their offices anthraxed. And subsequently claimed aboard the PA train!

Like the French, I wasn't convinced by Powell's speech before the UN.

I was amazed that Joe Wilson who was tasked with the job of determining whether or not Saddam Hussein had attempted to buy yellow cake from Niger. His report concluded that he had in fact made no attempt, though Bush claimed in his 2003 SOTU address that he had attempted the purchase.

I didn't believe that Saddam Hussein had the motivation let alone the means to produce a mushroom cloud over a US city and considered the claim hyperbolic.

I paid close attention to Hans Blix in interviews during his time in Iraq as he prepared preliminaries stating that Saddam Hussein was giving him unprecedented access, and after he was ordered out of the country prematurely, I read his scathing reports on Bush and Blair and his accusations that the policy to invade Iraq trumped the lack of evidence of WMD.

There were the disputed claims that Saddam Hussein was affiliated with AQ and OBL and so much more that just stunk like rotten fish to me and informed my position not to support the invasion which earned me ridicule by many friends and coworkers at the time, some of whom, that I still have contact with have accepted my opposition as correct in recent years.

All of which every democratic law maker was aware of and of course much more than I could have been aware of as well. So I personally don't accept the "if we knew then what we know now" argument.

Like Morell stated the CIA stood their ground even though they were wrong on the AQ link. That in fact they did know about the Pakistan terrorist groups Saddam was associated with.

I haven't read his book yet. So I will see what he says on the rest as he goes thru it all. But so far his interviews are all coming out with the same thing.

Hewitt had part two Monday night. So over an hour with interview straight up.

At the start of Obama's tenure, Iraq was a work in progress.
Iraq has been a continuous "work in progress" for the USA since March 20, 2003.
Yes, there were issues that still needed to be addressed, but things were getting better.
Constant terrorist attacks, corrupt authoritarian non exclusive government, an essential constant civil war, a country in that kind of conflict was somehow "getting better"?
Then Obama pulled out
Ah yes, you think its that black and white, dont you?
us out completely and ignored the Iraqi govt's pleas for help when ISIS started taking territory.
He did?
And when he finally decided to send help, he tied the military's hands.
What would happen if I told you the problem we currently find Iraq in is bigger than just Obama?
