yup... no doubt about it... as a club, they do some damage... as individual bikers, they are of the usual sort....short on brains and fuses, long on brawn and tempers.

I hit a lot of rallys around Central Texas... and I get a lot of road time and attend a lot of Bike Nights at various bars.
...dealing with Banditos is just part of the landscape.... no one freaks out or anything.
play by their rules and it's all good... mess with them and you'll scrap with all of them.

BTW. While we're talking about race. And since you were the one to bring it up. Where was the militarized police response to this shootout that left nine people dead? Where was the tear gas? The riot tanks? The infrasonic cannons? Where were they?
BTW.... I would wait for the results to come in as to how many of the dead bikers were killed by the cops before I would minimize the police response. Just sayin'.....

I pretty much just ignore them at places like strokers and the cottage

yeah...in my experience, most folks ignore them.... they're just part of the landscape.

I don't make it to the DFW area too much... if I'm riding, i'm looking for long empty roads, not crowded freeways

It took my friend about six and half hours coming up 35 from Austin to here Sunday. Not a fun drive or ride I'm sure. She have taken 183 instead

Not far from my rural road is what used to be a tiny grocery store with one fuel tank. It's become a biker bar, and sometimes I see at least 75 people standing around by their bikes in the parking lot. There's been a bit of stereotyping on this thread about "bikers," considering the people I know who ride.

As for the Bandidos, I've known only one. Knew him well in high school. Immensely wealthy--father owned a major insurance company in a major city--but determined to be bad. Went to prison at 19 and hooked up with the Bandidos there. I Googled him recently but found nothing and figure he's long-dead.

I'm been a "biker" since I was in high school. My pop was a biker before me (2nd generation Galloping Goose..quasi-1%er)
with 48 years on scooters, I know that stereotyping ...and the lifestyle...all too well.

in the summer of '67, I bought a '61 Duo-glide...the girls loved it... the school, not so much.
they barred me from parking on school property.... good time, good times

are you speaking of 183 from lampasis???because i always use that road,35 to austin from anywhere centex could take 45 minutes to all freaking day depending on traffic.

during rush hour just getting from georgetown to austin takes hours, most people round here simply take 183 from lampasis or shortcut it through florence rather than take 35.plus if its not rush hour traffic, there are always accidents between waco temple and austin slowing things down.

183 is a much better ride... 35 north(or south)is just horrible... goddamn death trap ,as far as i'm concerned.

I'm about 10 minutes off of 183, and i'll hit that ride to lampassas quite often ( though I prefer heading 29 out past Llano ,especially when the wildflowers bloom)
