My guess is that THIS Federal government is using their resources on other things which allowed this to get out of hand.
... This happened in Texas... your state.... where retarded people are executed... where people pretend that Texas is still its own country... where people run out to bitch about states rights when the gays want to get married... where there is sizeable percentage of the population who thinks that the civil war was about state rights (to own slaves)... and you figured out a way to blame the federal government and by extension Obama. Good grief, your political beliefs are becoming a charicature of themselves. I'm guessing you couldn't bring yourself to call this another one of Texas' law enforcement failures?

Up to 170 Face Murder-Related Charges in Biker Melee
My guess is that most of those currenntly detained will be quietely accept various plea bargains to far lesser charges. They are being charged with Engaging in Criminal activity in relation to Capital Murder.

Engaging in orgainzed crime could be very difficult charge to prove as the groups in question are not criminal orgainizations per se, but rather have some (or many members) involved in crimimal activity as individuals. Likewise, even the capital murder component may be difficult to prove. Undoubtably, most of the bikers will claim self defense, or even claim SYG.

At face value, their SYG claims could well be valid, if they can convince a jury that wearing gang colors does not constitute a "provocation" (provocations are forbidden under Texas SYG):
    - right to be in the area
    - no obligation to retreat
    - responded to a deadly threat with deadly force.
    - too hard to prove who did what to whom first.

My bet is that they can show that wearing gang colors was not a provocation, as many of the bikers were invited to the event and it was understood by the orgainizers that they would show up with full "regalia".

nothing unexpected about it at all, anyone wearing a rocker in Texas has seen it coming for quite a while, though not in such a dramatic fashion....
lil battles have been springing up quite a bit... this is just the first to get wide coverage.
the Feds knew it was brewing, and they've informed the police statewide that a "war" was in the air.

Cossacks (Angel affiliates) have been breaking the rules for quite some time....this was "judgement day", little else.

Seeing that the union allowed slavery in Maryland, West Virginia, Missouri, Kentucky and Delaware and that the Emancipation Proclamation forgot to free:

    - slaves in union states
    - slaves owned by pro union indian factions
    - slaves owned by union officers
    - slaves owned anywhere by anybody willing to take a pro union loyalty oath
    -slaves in Washington DC

there are indications that the "right" to own slaves was also embraced by most in the north- so long as the slaves in question were owned by the right kind of people (union loyalists).

these sorts of battles happen all over the united states... though this one is sizable and dramatic enough to find wide media coverage.

you usually don't hear about the 1 or 2 outlaw bikers found dead here and there.... but they are all part of the same war.

This threat was reinforced when they brawled with a Hells Angels group over Texas rockers. This threat then led to some Dallas area clubs, one named the Dirty Bastards, not to present themselves as state wide orgainizations.
The Bandidos were fearsome even back in the '70's.
