Beyond that, I'd like to think that we as a society can do better than killing people who kill people.
We kill thousands of cows, pigs and chicken everyday who never did anything to anyone so that we can barbecue them with a beer and friends and people are hesitant at the thought of this piece rotten scum being executed?
So the best choice would be life in prison and am torn between solitary or dumped in the gen population.
I agree. I prefer to see him sincerely remorseful and living with what he did. That is more punishment than a quick death to confused, radicalized, and unremorseful individual.
In many ways, this conversation reminds me of the Manson Family murders. I have seen many of the Manson women in interviews, and they are now horrified by what they did. But once, they were unremorseful, and looked totally insane with their shaved heads and singing songs after being sentenced to death. They were brainwashed, and instead of dying brainwashed, the state of CA banned the death penalty and they lived to regret. It is unbelievable considering how screwed up they were, but after getting away from Manson they were deprogrammed. I think we were also able to learn more about cult phenomena and brainwashing as a result of their lives being spared. I think he could be more valuable being kept alive in some ways as well.
If my post offends you, I deeply Apple-O-Jize.
Many evaluations and re evaluations to the point where he would end up in a state general population situation.
"rotting" in prison means you are chained to a wall twenty four seven, fed gruel and beaten by guards.
That is out of some movie of the 50s.
