Shell needs to be held accountable for the environmental damage it caused in Nigeria before being allowed to drill another drop of oil anywhere.....

    Warning: graphic

What was graphic about those images?
Give a man a fish and he eats for a day. Teach a man to fish and he stops voting for the Free Fish party.

    ol yea meaningless.

the fact is that on a macro scale renewable energy is a waste of money.
it works find on a micro scale, but after you get outside the area of a large neighborhood they start to drop off.

they left a mess but that is more the government of Nigeria's fault than anything else for not enforcing standards and making sure that they
    cleaned up their act.

the reason why oil drilling in the US is relatively clean is that we actually enforce standards.
what happens in Nigeria is when the government is so corrupt that they don't care and take a huge pay day.

Take away its subsidies and its a dead duck

So let it exist in the energy free market and we'll see how long it lasts ?

Guess which countries have the highest investment in renewables here ?

Black gold fossil fuels are subsidized too...............

In the United States, estimates of annual fossil fuel subsidies range from $10 billion to $52 billion annually yet these donít even include costs borne by taxpayers related to the climate, local environmental, and health impacts of the fossil fuel industry. As of July 2014, Oil Change International estimates U.S. fossil fuel subsidies at $37.5 billion annually, including $21 billion in production and exploration subsidies.

Check the cost of the subsidy per KwH of energy generated and you will find renewables to be many hundreds of times more heavily subsidised

I don't dispute that, but the biggest profit companies in the world are oil. Quite naturally oil is against renewable. Renewables have never been given a fair chance and it's an uphill battle because of it. Don't worry flogger, oil will be around clogging things up as long as you need it to be.

Fossil fuels are the single greatest thing we Learned to use, in the age of carbon we lept from living in small wooden towns to industrial cities, virtually eliminated famine expanded science to levels never dreamt possible, and brought the poor to a standRd rivaling the upper class of the era before....
