Obama’s quiet nuclear deal with China raises proliferation concerns

Unbelievable! Do we really want WW3? Tensions are running too high for my liking, and it's deliberately being done! Who are the crazies behind this?

What "tensions" are you talking about? Sounds to me the main tensions are in your head.

Try again Monte.....now just where did I accuse China of anything. You were asked what do you do when they make an issue into something adversarial. Since you must be under the impression they live in paradise and don't create issues of adversity.

Mornin Monte. :2wave: What do you do when China makes an issue adversarial.....snip~

Yes, and I asked you, what would that be?

That's not all Polgara.

The nonpartisan Center for Responsive Politics has calculated that more than 151 members of Congress have up to $195 million invested in major defense contractors that are earning profits from the US military occupations in Iraq and Afghanistan.

14. Congress Invested in Defense Contracts – Top 25 of 2010

It doesn't matter what the issue would be.....the issue is when China makes something adversarial. Then your so called response. As the Utopian theory doesn't play out with reality.

Obama

Selling your soul to the devil comes to mind.
No deals on limiting Nukes, as the US has with Russia.
Thoughts are?

My thoughts are that if we are going to do this then we should charge no less than 6X the amount of money it took to make whatever we were selling.

NBC’s owner General Electric designed, manufactured or supplied parts or maintenance for nearly every major weapon system used by the U.S. during the Gulf War—including the Patriot and Tomahawk Cruise missiles, the Stealth bomber, the B-52 bomber, the AWACS plane, and the NAVSTAR spy satellite system. “In other words,” we wrote in Unreliable Sources, “when correspondents and paid consultants on NBC television praised the performance of U.S. weapons, they were extolling equipment made by GE, the corporation that pays their salaries.”

The Military-Industrial-Media Complex

Years ago, GE had a very popular site at Disney in Florida called "The world of tomorrow," where you rode in a car on a track that showed people what their vision of the future looked like. I don't know if it's still there, but I was so impressed that I wrote a letter to Jack Welch, CEO of GE at that time, praising him for having one of the best sites at Disney. Everything was being done by robots - large scale farming; construction; etc. Not one damn thing was shown about war and weaponry and innovative ways to kill people! What has happened to our world, Monte? Why the bloodlust and hate we see everywhere today? Will we be portrayed in future history books as being the root cause of most of it because of our meddling? Makes me wonder what kind of world is being created for the children and grandchildren all over the world! Sad...

Greetings, Born Free. :2wave:

According to the IMF, China officially became the world's largest economy on December 5, 2014. Stay tuned for further news on what this might mean for the US.....

Perhaps in PPP, which doesn't mean **** since China's GDP per capita is still comparable to that of an African nation.

Not quite. China, on a per capita basis, is way more prosperous than almost all African countries.

China is the only strategic threat to the US.
Why sell technology that will come back to bite you in the ass.
It is ffn stupid.

Weapons Tech, Space tech, Nuke tech.....we shouldn't be sharing it with anybody.

Time to drop the mantra of......can't we all get along. That left leaning failed concept. Move to the reality check, and face the facts. Some don't ever want to get along.

Sad...and ugly too. But thus was it ever so, I suppose. Human nature doesn't seem to change.

Nothing, but today's friend may be your next adversary. And I'm not calling China a friend. Thus the constitution requires a defense from any adversary no matter the conditions at the moment and to provide for the safety of it's people. Thus a strong military, that has proven to be necessary. Do you not agree?.

The snake strikes when you least expect it.

China will not attack its number one costumer. Both nations would lose terribly in the end and China would not win over us (whether they deal a lot of damage or not earns nothing).

Not quite. China, on a per capita basis, is way more prosperous than almost all African countries.

Hyperbole, start learning how to read a little more figuratively.

Now compare China's PER capita to ours or Britain or Germany.

I'm sorry, but I'm not willing to make China an adversary on your hypotheticals. USFP is the adversarial component that is driving Russia and China closer together, which many experts in foreign policy consider dangerous for global security. Or do you support Obama's foreign policy.

Greetings, LeoVlaming. :2wave:

I must share my thoughts with millions of other people then. Are we all "mental" in your opinion? What do you see when you read the paper or watch TV? Peace and serenity and good will worldwide? I wish! Sheesh!

Last time I checked Britain and Germany were not African countries.

The world is much more peaceful now than in most of past history.

Who

One word comes to mind. Greed! Do they think that they and their families will somehow magically escape whatever is on the horizon in our future? Good luck with that!

Sarcasm? Okay, but what planet do you live on? Name one continent on this planet where people are not fighting with each other for one reason or another, except for Antarctica which has little or no humans living there. You call this normal and peaceful?

"Its a small world" in Buena Park (CA) reminds me somewhat of that. Doing the same thing we've been doing obviously is definitively not sound. Independents out number registrants to either of the dinosaur parties. Time to make it happen.

There are relatively few wars going on and even the civil wars are much less bloody than they historically used to be. You are simply being hysterical.

I don't know what criteria they used to make their statement, but make it they did - based on however they gauge such things. I didn't say I liked reading that, though!
