The North's military is made up primarily of VERY old weapon systems that cannot even dream of competing against the South's military technology.

Throw in American/NATO/UN air power that could come to the South's aid in a few days and the North would not stand a chance against the South...not even close.

And so long as America pledges to retaliate with nukes to any NK attack with nukes - the North's hands are tied militarily.
Hatuey is correct. The only thing that has prevented war on in Korea is the US holding the South back.
Climate, changes. It takes a particularly uneducated population to buy into the idea that it's their fault climate is changing and further political solutions can fix it.

NK is just trying to saber rattle because that is about all they have.

They could have a hundred ICBM's and it matters little.

If they use even one, they will be obliterated and they know it. So they will never use them
They might as well have launched a marshmallow on top of a missile for all the good it will do them.
Exactly buddy. But the handwringing is good for the complex of military/defense contractors, and helps keep American unemployment numbers lower.

N.Korea has always been more of a threat then Iran. That does not diminish the fact that Iran is still a major threat.

    ?

I dont think South Korea has any desire to attack North Korea. Why should they? North Korea is a piss-ant. Everyone knows it. South Korea certainly isnt threatened by the North. The North for all their occasional bravado isnt stupid enough to actually act. For than matter...neither is Iran. Iran is talking big **** because they know they can. Obama isnt going to war with them and they know it. Iran is that stupid street punk grabbing their balls and talking **** from half a block away with a couple of their boys being really impressed all the while knowing that they guy they are talking **** to a-doesnt really care-b-isnt really going to respond and c-if he did respond the fight would be over before it started. To Obamas credit, he has just been ignoring the threats and he should. ANY type of response would just result in some sort of payoff for the impotent rusty saber rattling.

Both may pose threats to some of our interests and allies, but neither poses a threat to the United States directly.

Agreed, mostly. And much of the same could be said of Iran.

Exactly. Which also could be said of many of the countries that we have gone to war with.

Saying that they don't pose a direct threat is a way of downplaying the threat they do pose. It also leaves out what type of threat you are talking about as well. Saying Iran or N.Korea are not a direct threat to America is akin to saying that Germany prior to WW2 was not a direct threat to the US. If you can see the ignorance in the 2nd statement, you should realize the ignorance in the 1st.
