Motion filed to have Marilyn Mosby recuse herself

BALTIMORE —A motion has been filed on behalf of the officers charged in Freddie Gray's death.

In it, it's asked that Baltimore City State's Attorney Marilyn Mosby recuse herself.

It gives five reasons, including the seizing of personal gain by Mosby and her husband, personal relationships with individuals who will be witnesses at trial, the role of her office as the investigators, the pending civil claim against Mosby and her office, and the financial interest of the attorney for the Gray family, who they claim is a close friend of Mosby.

Just heard about this as well, unsure what will happen with this motion. At this point I guess the motion will not be granted.

Thoughts? I mean, why would it?

You do not think it is clear by what is claimed?

It gives five reasons, including the seizing of personal gain by Mosby and her husband, personal relationships with individuals who will be witnesses at trial, the role of her office as the investigators, the pending civil claim against Mosby and her office, and the financial interest of the attorney for the Gray family, who they claim is a close friend of Mosby.

Just an appearance impropriety should be enough for her to recuse herself.

It is not that, perhaps I could have stated this better. My concern is using theses reasons vs. the political implications here.

You could read the entire 107 pages which somewhere in there accuses her of "egregiously" violating prosecutorial ethics.

I'll be here all night, I'll just take your word for it on this one. Perhaps she will eventually step away, but I suspect it will take a fight to get her to.

It is kind of odd that the reporter said it is a motion to recuse herself when they are asking the Court to recuse her.

Nor do the cops - looks like a stalemate.
