Heya AG. Not really he has been against since his start.....what I find amusing was Cruz sounded off on it. But still voted for it. If he was against it.....then he should have voted that way.

"It is a virtual certainty that no matter how terrible this deal is, it will go into effect and this legislation is unlikely to stop it," said Republican Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas, who is running for president.

Another 2016 candidate, Sen. Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., said the bill puts Congress in a better position than having no say.

"At a minimum, at least it creates a process whereby the American people through their representatives can debate an issue of extraordinary importance," Rubio said......snip~

Not really.....and once all on the Senate Foreign Relations Committees all vote against any bad deal. BO's only chance to block will be the House. Which he can't afford to have any Demos cross over. How many will stick knowing all the top 8 are against any bad deal.
Not really, I'll let CNN explain. If Iran agrees to a deal it is in the bag. BTW Obama will not agree to any bad deal. And after 60 days Obama can remove the sanctions himself. I expect Congress will not vote to disaprove anyway.

The bill would block the President from using his authority to waive congressionally-mandated sanctions against Iran for close to two months while Congress studies an agreement and decides whether to vote on a resolution of disapproval. Still, the measure gives a strong advantage to the President to seal a deal. That's because the President could veto a disapproval resolution and then block an override effort with just 41 votes. 2016 presidential candidate Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, and other Republicans were furious their leaders had agreed to the disadvantage.

You should be more worried about the Democrats in the House - they and Obama are the ones that oppose the bill.

How about some bipartisanship? The one? Mr. Tom Cotton. really?

The same strident anti-Iranian Tom Cotton who alerted Americans that in addition to Beirut etc, "Tehran" was one of the "foreign capitals" over which Iran has gained control.

Why do you expect the House would have such a dramatically different stance than the Senate?

    --------

I think & hope you're right. Public support for negotiations with Iran already exceeded Washington's expectations & most politicians are responding in spite of US media's anti Iranian bias

    But....

We can only hope that this time congress listens to its constituents instead of AIPAC:

“Poll: Clear majority supports nuclear deal with Iran”

Poll: Clear majority supports nuclear deal with Iran - The Washington Post
EXCERPT “By a nearly 2 to 1 margin, Americans support the notion of striking a deal with Iran that restricts the nation’s nuclear program in exchange for loosening sanctions, a new Washington Post-ABC News poll finds."

    But...

“Nearly six in 10 say they are not confident that a deal will prevent Iran from developing nuclear weapons, unchanged from 15 months ago,”CONTINUED

    . . . . . ...

Does this mean that 6 in 10 Americans aren't worried about Iran acquiring Nuclear Weapons?

    “Warming to Iran”
Warming to Iran - The Atlantic

EXCERPT “Whatever the eventual outcome of the long-running negotiations over Iran’s nuclear program, Israeli interests cannot impede a warming of relations between Iran and the United States in the coming years, under either this president or the next.

The American military has already quietly encouraged Iranian involvement there.(Afghanistan )

The more the United States and Iran coordinate with each other, the less chance there is that America will have to put additional boots on the ground in the Middle East.
They themselves had a useful relationship with Iran up until the Iranian revolution, and they know the country well.

The United States will never be free of Middle East chaos, but if it can employ a new relationship with Iran to add a measure of regional stability, it can over time shift more of its attention"CONTINUED

    . . . . . . . . .

Apparently, more people in the US are seeing the benefits of friendly relations with Iran surpass the detriments.

The US is bound to benefit more with a normalized & mutually advantageous relationship with Iran than the One-Way relationship it has with other regional states.
I hope our politicians remember that America's best interests come first.

    Thanks

LOL Obama has already said he would sign the bill that came out of committee. Unless the teas in the House throw in "poison pills" like some in the Senate tried and failed to do, it will sail through the House with full Democratic support. You don't seem to understand that Obama wants Congress to approve the agreement too. Politics should stop at the border don't you think? Most Americans want a agreement and this bill should make sure a tiny minority of Bibbi kissing chickenhawks won't have the power to kill it. McConell understood this and hopefully Boehner will get the hint. Obama only needs 41 votes in the Senate to prevent an over-ride of his veto in the unlikely event that Congress rejects the agreement. I like those odds.

What a bunch of absolute morons. Is this how they keep us secure? Helping the big dummy Obama give Iran nukes?
