As far as the court's decision that congress didn't intend for this program, well i suppose not since congress didn't even read the damn bill before voting for it
The court made the right decision. Its hard to say whether the Supremes will agree. The supporters of the Patriot Act may be right that ending the practice of phone data collection may increase the risk of more terrorism. If you value freedom you have to accept some risk.
It continues under obama because no politician wants to be blamed if a terror attack took place *after* the spying program was reigned in. It's always about covering their asses
I would bet that everything i listed is illegal as well, since there's no trial process or appeals or court order. It's certainly not becoming of a country that claims to value liberty
