The ACA was enacted to increase the quality and affordability of health insurance, lower the uninsured rate by expanding public and private insurance coverage, and reduce the costs of healthcare for individuals and the government. It introduced mechanisms like mandates, subsidies, and insurance exchanges.[1][2] The law requires insurance companies to cover all applicants within new minimum standards and offer the same rates regardless of pre-existing conditions or sex.[3] Additional reforms were increased competition, regulation, and incentives to streamline the delivery of healthcare. In 2011 the Congressional Budget Office projected that the ACA would lower both future deficits[4] and Medicare spending.

PS still waiting on my 2500 premium reduction instead of the 50% plus increase I have had in the past 2 years.

No, Obamacare Wasn't a "Republican" Proposal
yet another lie from the left.

Is the ACA the GOP health care plan from 1993? | PunditFact
That said, the Senate plan from 1993 was not identical to the health care law that passed in 2010. The Republican bill did not expand Medicaid as Obamacare does, and it did have medical malpractice tort reform, which the current law does not. In contrast to the current employer mandate, the Chafee bill required employers to offer insurance, but they were under no obligation to help pay for it.

this so called bill was scuttled and never even made the rest of it is nonsense from politifact bias.
no one voted for the 90's bill that was introduced.

so can we finally stop with the liberal lie that obamcare is a republican idea?

We have to stay vigilante though. The Democratic and Republican politicians hate the American people and the Constitution. They may continue to find a way to strike at us with new legislation. The PATRIOT ACT was one of many attacks against us.

No, the PA was just an electronic upgrade of the FISA Act which you have been living under since Jimmy Carter was POTUS. And by that I mean an adjustment to cope with the new reality of the information/computer age.

I don't think our politicians hate us or the constitution. The house critters are largely firmly stuck in district politics, as they should be, that's by design. Even though nationally they may look like raving loons. The senate critters are invested in their careers and legacies more than their country for the most part.

My premiums went down, my deductible was cut in half and my pre-existing is no longer a factor. But as per the Mod warning, to the op, I'm delighted with the ruling.

Your pre-existing used to be a factor?
