Bernie Sanders Raises $3 Million In Four Days

Prove to me that Sanders hates Capitalism.

Ready, set, go...

Sanders is a "socialist" in the Scandinavian model. There's a pretty healthy dose of capitalism in those countries ... he's more a Social Democrat than anything.

Don't be soooo ****ing dramatic. It's like accusing someone of not believing in Climate Change because they heat their homes. Utterly retarded.

Bernie cares about the welfare of the middle class and regular apple pie Americans who've been beat over their collective heads even since Reaganomics. In order for him to even have a remote chance to win, he needs money. He's got to do what he's got to do.

So he is a socialist for the Bourgeoisie not the proletariat? Check!

Also, nice drama there, I could almost hear the fist pounding.

It doesn't. He just has millions of dollars that he plans to blow on a worthless campaign instead of on the poor. I guess fellow travelers of Bernie just wouldn't donate in those large dollar amounts if it was just to help poor people.

So I assume you'll be the first in line to start chastising Republican presidential wannabes about their relative low chances? Didn't think so.

Spoken like someone who really doesn't know dick about Bernie Sanders, and doesn't care to.

Woooooosh

Woooooosh

Ah, the whole "liberals/socialists aren't allowed to have money, because they prefer we not crap on the poor, that means they should hand over all their money to them."

Typical boilerplate conservative crap. Come at me with something worth my time, Dracula.

RON PAUL. Not Rand.

Ron Paul left the Republican party in 1987 and didn't rejoin it until 1998, specifically because it would help keep him in office. Ali asked "why doesn't Sanders run as an independent"? Well, Paul could have too, and he didn't, and neither will Sanders, because neither one is an idiot. They both knew that being a party contender, even an outside one, gave them far more access to funds and audience than running as an independent ever could.

Oh, sorry. I guess I couldn't imagine why a guy who ran as a 3rd party candidate in 1988 and then ran as a candidate in his declared party twice was relevant.

Do you honestly think any of those men are actually socialists?

They have all spoken out about the injustice of the wealth gap. They have all said they should be taxed more.

So yeah. More or less, yes.

In politics it is less important to know the politician, since their persona is invariably a facade, and imminently more important to know their fans.

:lamo Oh boy do they have to snowed.

Just to point out:

1. Higher tax rates are one ways in which entrenched interests seek to forestall competition.
2. It's not as if the Treasury Department turns away donations.

Ah the "old we love the poor, give US money!" Song and dance. You can be rich so long as you pretend that you really wish you could give more money to government.

Well, now you know.

It still doesn't quite match. Paul left the Republican Party in 1987 to run as a Libertarian for POTUS. He went right back to the party. Bernie didn't become a Democrat until he declared himself a nominee for President. And he's been in politics since 1971.

Have you seen his 12 point plan ?

I have. It rocks. Income equality for all! Socialist healthcare for everyone! The end of the Koch Brothers as we know them! Labor unions everywhere! Tax the rich and give to the poor!

It's a capitalist's dream.

It's sad when your success as a politician depends on how much money you have access to.

I wish Sanders all the luck in the world. He will need it. Then again, I wished Mike Gravel all the luck in the world 8 years ago.

If Sanders is ever elected, likely he will end up like JFK.

More equale countries with higher taxes like my country Sweden, have more social mobility so you instead could say that countries like USA with lower taxes forestall competition by making it harder for children with low income to succeed. That at the same time Sweden have a lot of sucessfull companies from old ones like Volvo and H & M to new tech company like Skype who Microsoft bought, Minecraft and Spotify, so we also do pretty well on the global market.

Ole Bernie doesn't support capitalism, but rather corporatism. Where industrial and professional corporations serve as organs of political representation and exercising control over persons and activities. In corporatism government gets to pick the winners and losers according to the party's own special interests. Out of his 12 point plan that ranges from another trillion in stimulus for infrastructure to create jobs paid for by the taxpayers (like Obama's not so shovel ready jobs and a trillion dollars in stimulus to pay for them) to his wanting to increase welfare, and a single payer Medicaid for all healthcare system which would completely turn over a whole sector of our economy to government control. But he did have one point about making education more affordable for all which I agree. But does that mean he wants universities audited to find out the true cost of teaching and have tuitions lowered accordingly while requiring professors work a forty hour week to earn their income and generous benefits? I doubt it. Bernie Sanders is seventy some years old and his ideas are even older.

See post 48.

Still a redirection of the topic and still hasn't answered my question.

And please don't attribute quotes to me I didn't make: "Ali asked "why doesn't Sanders run as an independent"?"

Fair enough, that was paraphrasing; ergo, should not have been in quotes. My b.
