30 Murders by Firearm in England 2012 (equiv. 164), vs. 8,855 in US | Informed Comment

Thats a per capita gun murder rate in the US some 53 times than that of the UK. UK gun murders have fallen dramatically since 2001 when 96 such cases were recorded
That wasn't the point. The point was that getting a gun wouldn't be that hard. You don't seem to get that. Plus:

    Your people use knives.

If access to firearms caused murder we would have far more. You don't get it do you? Your number accounts for .02% of firearms owners. And per gun? .002% of all firearms are used in a murder.

You are claiming that access causes murder? With percentages that low?
The Crowd is not the sum of its parts.

I'm saying that by any measure such free and unmonitored access to firearms makes your society far less safe and that the police officer in the OP would doubtless be alive today were that not the case. Its not that difficult really

    Yes it is

The US has by far the highest number of police officers shot and killed per capita than that of any other developed country.

That is very simplistic and doesn't take many other factors into consideration.

And you can prove this how? Lots of police officers are killed in Europe as well. You need to get out a bit more.
