Wouldnt blame the guns though, I blame the criminals. Its funny....I went through 4 years of criminal justice courses, police academy, and 4 years of being a LEO...and not ONCE have a heard anyone say that more gun laws would make us safer. Youre telling me that empty suits in DC know better than boots on the ground?

back when Janet Reno was the AG, she commissioned a poll of sworn LEOs about the CLinton gun laws-the brady bill (waiting period/background check) and the silly "assault weapon ban". She was hoping this poll would support the two laws that even Clinton admitted probably cost his party the senate and the house in the 1994 elections.

well guess what-more than 90% of the respondents were opposed to both laws: the AWB was less popular than the Brady bill. But in both cases, the street officers were rather underwhelming in their support. I know this for a fact because a copy of this study was left in the mail room of our office: the clinton appointed US attorney apparently figured no one would care. But guess what, that study was never made public. I wonder why

Look at the drug laws-we have completely banned crack, cocaine, and heroin and jail anyone caught with that stuff. as a result, no one can buy or smoke crack in the USA

    sarcasm off
RIGHT now I am sure I could find a gun in the UK. I know at least one person with an arrest record over there. Petty crap from when he was a teenager. But he grew up in a rough area in the northern part of England. He knew people who had guns. Wouldn't be that hard to buy one.

They have rifle shooters there. And shotguns. They have legal gun ownership. It is really strict to the point of impossible. But something tells me if I REALLY knew where to look I could find one with one of those people too lol.

    Actually...in real time12:14 am

12:14am lol! Less than a minute I found a google post about how easy it is to get a gun lol. I wish I could get a webley for $150

That is a felony. It ISNT legal! Dude. If you are going to trash the 2a...at least learn the existing legislation. Oh. And the laws differ in all 50 states. But what you just described is a felony in all states.
You are being wilfully obtuse there I think. Obviously they would not tell the gun shop they were buying it for somebody else. Once the serial number is removed after purchase whos to say who bought it and why. You don't monitor firearms anyway hence it would be very easy to do. Why would any felon ever need to steal a gun under such a system

and lets get back to the idiotic claim that if the USA had adopted the silly British bedwetting after Dunblane, a man willing to murder a police officer couldn't have done so
Circling the wagons and waving a flag at me does not diminish the facts. Had that felon not had a gun it is almost certain that police officer would be alive today as would dozens of others who are yet to be slain this year

You lose on average an officer per week to shooting so thats a difficult claim to substantiate given the extreme rarity of such events in other developed nations

    BS

Firearms murders in the UK in 2012 were 30. In the US they were 8,855

30 Murders by Firearm in England 2012 (equiv. 164), vs. 8,855 in US | Informed Comment

Thats a per capita gun murder rate in the US some 53 times than that of the UK. UK gun murders have fallen dramatically since 2001 when 96 such cases were recorded

No. You are either deliberately lying about how the process works, or you are commenting without knowledge. It doesn't matter what they say. It is still a felony and claimed it was legal.

Police officers being killed in the line of duty is not that rare.
