No - it was a young white girl, in this particular case. However, is the concern in Baltimore police brutality or is it racism? Seems to me, if the complaint is that cops are lawless, cops are over militarized, cops are abusive, etc., it shouldn't matter the colour of the victim's skin. Or are you saying that only people of colour should be demonstrative and destructive? We, here in Toronto, have had many people of all flavours and sexes who've died interacting with police and we've had no rioting for any of them. In fact, in most cases, where protests have occurred, it has been mothers of black youth who have died at the hands of other black youth who rally their communities in an attempt to stop the violence. Many of them are mothers of children who were just in the wrong place at the wrong time. And in all of these protests, the police walk along with those trying to change their communities for the better - they ask police here to participate, and they do. Different culture, different attitudes, and different outcomes for the most part.
