Faulty taptic engine slows Apple Watch roll out

A key component of the Apple Watch made by one of two suppliers was found to be defective, prompting Apple Inc. to limit the availability of the highly anticipated new product, according to people familiar with the matter.

Your last comment reminds me of one of my father's humors. He was a hot rodder even into is old age, being an integral part of the various Texas Speedways and always tinkering and tweaking his cars and rods. Up to when I left home for good, he had purchased only American cars, but Japan had begun making much of the engine parts and assembly of same. So he bought a Dodge Dart fresh off the line to soup up. He had handpainted in Japanese on the air filter lid, "Brought to by those bastards that brought us Pearl Harbor," or something very close to that. Too funny.

And now even major engine components are made in China, using inferior metals. Gotta be careful these days when buying new valve heads, headers, cams, entire rotating assemblies. Many of them are made in China, and can't be used in high RPM or high compression applications.

Not quite the same, I don't recall China being in a position of being an actual military enemy directly, just one we don't want as an actual military enemy.

Well, we HAVE been a direct enemy of Britain, and we buy tons of their crap, same with Germany.

I get your father, he views the Japanese as the enemy, I guess. Me? I just don't want inferior quality products. Politics has nothing really to do with it.

My father's dead, and it was a joke, not to be taken seriously. Again a slight difference was that back then American cars and such didn't have GB or G parts quite like we were bringing in Japanese parts. Had there been German parts, I have no doubt he'd have painted them too. With their flag and all just as he did with the Japanese. But again, Germany never made a hit on US soil, Japan did. Great Britain, probably he'd not have done anything. I think most people have gotten over that one.
