Baltimore mom who smacked son at riot: I don't play

It is possible that some or all of her kids were indeed born when she was married (if she was married). I don't know her particular situation, but I think it's a mistake to make a knee-jerk broad assumption that all her kids were born out of wedlock.

That being said, that is possible as well, and I have known some women who have done this myself. I knew one woman who had 6 kids (coincidence to this scenario) with 6 different men, none of which she had ever been married. And no, she was not black.

Basically a complete overhaul of black culture itself from the ground up at this point. It's not just an issue of men being uncommitted. Women don't even really expect them to be anymore.

There's no real incentive to prevent pregnancies out of wedlock either, as many low income minority women basically regard children (and the Welfare payments that follow) as being their meal ticket.

Solution, cut the meal ticket. They will be forced to reform themselves if they wish to survive. Otherwise they go the way of the dodo bird.

I saw that live. It was priceless because at first you weren't necessarily sure what the hell was happening, but you felt like that was a Mom giving her son what he needed.
 
Adrian Peterson was suspended from the NFL for a year for that kind of behavior.

I applaud her for intervening, but before we claim her as "Mom of the Year", let's look at six kids with multiple men and no husband. THAT is why your son is out with hooligan's, Ms. Mike Tyson.
 
This mom is a hero to the nation for slapping around her son and shouting profanities at him. Has anyone asked why this kid was out participating in this lawlessness to begin with and what role that sort of parenting played in his own values and behavior?

I am NOT saying this mom did not have some justification for getting steamed and doing this. People do strange things when strange circumstances rear their ugly head and pulling your kid out of a riot sounds like a strange circumstance.

The neighborhood has influence, too, and maybe she's countering it the best she can. Not literally everything comes from parents and/or home.

Having a prison record makes it almost impossible for black men to get legitimate jobs so they can support their families and that's in a good economy. So perhaps demilitarizing the police and not putting them in prison for non violent crimes would help.

Stupidity is to think it isn't happening anyway, particularly when the evidence is so clear that it is. Birth control is better than unplanned pregnancies anyday. And costs waaaaay less to the woman, the community, and the country.

I am a big fan of sex.. and a big fan of responsibility.
if you want to have sex and have no birth control.. fine by me.. knock yourself out and have fun..... i'd be wary of where you allow sperm to go, though.
of the million and one places it can safely go.. inside the vagina is the single place that can lead to pregnancy...that's just a simple fact.
