Baltimore riots: Peace replaces violence on city's streets

I'm hearing reports that Freddie Gray had spinal surgery a week before his arrest.

Anyone else see that ? I wonder if there's any validity to those reports ?

Interesting you did not provide any sources.

I did a quick search and it would appear the sources carrying the alleged surgery story are known for questionable reporting.

LiveLeak.com - The truth always comes to light...BREAKING: FREDDY GRAY HAD SPINE SURGERY JUST ONE WEEK BEFORE ARREST
BREAKING: Freddie Gray Allegedly Had Spine Surgery Just One Week Before Arrest | The Fourth Estate

time will tell if the sources are correct.

It does make an interesting twist to the event.

It shouldn't be partisan to recognize that when anything like this happens, every young punk anarchist within travel distance makes their way to the affected city to get among the thugs and help organize their destruction.
Notice I didn't say help them protest because neither punk nor thug give a damn about a cause.
You can easily pick the punk anarchists out of the crowd ... I bet you have.

As for partisanship ... hello Barack Obama.
Another thing that's predictable is his reaction and commentary.
It's always a perfunctory reference to the violence and a much longer commentary on what he's going to blame ... in this case he wants more money for the affected city and blames the Republicans for blocking his wonderful agenda that would have delivered it.

Indeed my friend.

And let's not allow the President, and the Mayor of Baltimore, to hide their support for illegal aliens, who have harmed these communities, and in the case of the Mayor, have been encouraged to come and take jobs and city services away from the legal residents in the Black communities who are desperate for jobs.

Immigrants Help Reverse Baltimore

One of the most aggressive is Baltimore. Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake’s efforts began in 2011, when she set the goal of attracting 10,000 new families over the next decade. Believing immigrants were instrumental to the initiative, Rawlings-Blake pushed through various measures to make their acclimation to the city smoother. She ordered social service and police officers to stop questioning people’s citizenship status. She launched Spanish-only classes within public schools, and founded community groups to help immigrants complete paperwork. This September, she recommended that the city hire liaisons to connect with immigrant communities, and ease their process for obtaining mortgages.

These never ending, empty platitudes from the left should sicken the resident of Baltimore. At some point one hopes they wake up to the fact they are viewed as nothing but pawns by the left, and their only value comes during election cycles.

The Left will stop using the tactic when it stops working.
For a start, it would help if the communities recognize that their National & Local leaders are whoring for an ideology & Party and that the quality of their lives must not significantly improve in order to assure the leaders' continued survival.

I suspect we will continue to see more of this until it gets to the point where we start seeing signs saying "Looters will be shot on sight" and people start following through on that promise. Eventually, people are going to get fed up with the rioting and start fighting back with even greater violence than the looters. The other thing that I think we'll start seeing is going to be gangs selling protection against rioters. If that happens, you will see more riots than ever (drumming up business) with the non-protected businesses getting destroyed, while the protected ones are left unscathed or with a couple of dead bodies out front (can't lose your customer's confidence). Every time we have another riot, I wait for the backlash to occur and dead bodies to start piling up. The sad thing is that it will most likely take something like that to get this to stop...

With decades of results to review, one is left to wonder what it will take to finally waken to reality. For their sake, I sure hope it is soon.

As I have been saying all along, these two issues exist parallel to each other. The violence and rioting are simply unjustified. However, even if that is the case, the majority of the protesters are indeed justified in their outrage at the current situation. Hopefully, some discussion can be had on the issue. I doubt it though. We'll simply move on to discussing whether the police or the suspect are to blame for the guy with the broken neck and nothing will ever change, until the next round.

Most of the rioters aren't outraged about anything....

But yes indeed the city government failed the community with this no explaination bs on how a dude breaks his back/neck whatever in custody.
