General officers don't leave the military but retire and go inactive. He is still bound to his oath and has all the same benefits of active duty that he had before he retired.

That said, one of the benefits of high rank is sex with underlings and making decisions about who can look at classified material. The classified material in question was not all that dangerous to our national security but 0bama hated the powerful white guy with a lot of public support so he knocked him down.

Scooter Libby was wrist slapped too! I suppose it didn't bother you that time though.

Hmm... does it bother you the current WH leaked information to the press about the for a favorable film and was never held accountable, and also leaked info about the Bin Laden raid, yet hypocritically doesn't bother to bring the heavy hand of justice against anyone for those things? I find it amusing a partisan would complain about Libby given there were leaks by the WH itself. I guess it's only against the law some of the time but not when Obama's WH does it.
I think if Thomas Jefferson were looking down, the author of the Bill of Rights, on whats being proposed here, hed agree with it. He would agree that the First Amendment cannot be absolute. - Chuck Schumer (D). Yet, Madison and Mason wrote the Bill of Rights, according to Sheila Jackson Lee, 400 years ago. Yup, it's a fact.

Why would you say that to me? It bothers me very much that this WH has leaked things. It also bothers me that Obama is killing US citizens with his extra judicial drone program, and that he smuggled weapons pilfered from Gaddafi's army out of the Benghazi annex to militants in Syria, and that he interfered with internal issues in Kiev, and that he hasn't closed Gitmo, and that his NSA is Bush's on steroids, etc., etc.. I've pointed out problems with Obama consistently, why call me a partisan. Partisans don't point out wrong doing in both parties, people who do that are rare.

What did Scooter Libby do?? As we all know it was Armitage that outed the CIA whore - - not Scooter and all Scooter did was give the wrong answer to the FBI who already knew the right answer. The FBI knew at the vey beginning that the State Department knew who mentioned Val and they knew that she was not covert so it was not a crime.

Disclosing the "TOP Secret" information about the Bin Laden assassination was treason in that some of that information gave aid to our enemies.

0bama and Kerry have given aid to Iran by paying them to pretend to be slowing their drive to get a nuclear weapon.

0bama, Kerry, Holder, Hillary and many of the dems are denying that the terrorists that have sworn to destroy us are crossing our southern border with the intent to kill innocent Americans and we saw in Boston that they like to kill the most innocent - women and children.

If that were true, it would seem he would have been court martialed rather than tried in civilian court. It also would prevent the retired officers we see in the news from criticizing the military and it's civilian leaders. So I question your assertion

Wrist slapped? Libby was sentenced to 2 1/2 years in prison, more than twice the fine that Patraeus was given plus 400 hours of community service upon release.

Why do you refer to Valerie Plame as a "whore" what's your ****ing problem dude???? Here, I'll educate you on Libby's convictions.

The jury rendered its verdict on March 6, 2007.[88] It convicted Libby on four of the five counts against him: two counts of perjury, one count of obstruction of justice in a grand jury investigation, and one of the two counts of making false statements to federal investigators.

Yes, and of course a corrupt president commuted his sentence. Very much a wrist slap. And we'll never know how many people around the world lost their lives as a result of the outing of CIA agent Plame that Libby sought to cover up.
