Petraeus sentenced: 2 years probation; $100K fine

Re: Traitor General Petraeus gets off with misdemeanor and probation. No jail or fe

No worries.

Free speech does not include the right to release classified documents. Transparency and classified programs is kinda problematic. While I agree that better oversight(judicial branch oversight) is needed, allowing people to on their own judgement decide what the public should know strikes me as a poor solution.

I understand your point, but I will always insist that classified documentation that covers up government crimes against our constitutional liberties, is in itself a crime, and if those with the authority don't have the integrity to expose it, I'll take it from an underling and excuse his crime which trumps theirs.

OBSTRUCTION of JUSTICE and PERJURY, yet no prison time. A SLAP ON THE WRIST.

If he was never a general, most people would probably call it a slap on the wrist.

But in America, with her Military Industrial Complex reining supreme - ex-generals tend to get more of a pass.

True enough dude. Your speaking of Petraeus, although the post you quoted their was referring to Libby.

Can you, yourself, honestly take that seriously?

He was taking artistic liberty. He might of said instead "The CIA is just having its way" instead of "reining supreme"...;)

Re: Traitor General Petraeus gets off with misdemeanor and probation. No jail or fe

He's an idiot, arguably should have been charged with a felony, but he is not a traitor. He doesn't come close to committing treason as defined in the constitution

Not to mention he's given a lifetime of service whereas pukes like Berghdal, not so much.

Agreed. I think people need to understand that the majority of classified information is not classified because it is a danger to national security. It is classified because general knowledge of it would embarrass the government. A perfect example is the Wikileaks issue. I'm pretty sure that nothing there was leaked that would affect national security.

I'm not surprised that you're surprised, you never actually pay attention to what I say.
I used to - now I rarely waste my time.

Even though I never miss an opportunity to criticize the Obama administration when engaged in wrong doing. And you did indeed call me a partisan, as you just now did again in this post. I'd like to see you actually criticize the Republican Party.

Give classified info to your piece of ass on the side slap on the wrist, let American people know they are being spied on by their own government charged with serious crimes that could send you to prison for rest of your life. This country is ass backwards.

Factually, the sentence was excessive, thus the commutation

No, factually it was at least appropriate to the crimes he committed in the abuse of his authority.

He was convicted of covering up something that was known at the time not to be a crime. That's what you call a political prosecution

Re: Traitor General Petraeus gets off with misdemeanor and probation. No jail or fe

This seems to be common in the left. Once they seize on a demon, they refuse to let go. To this day, mention Pierre Trudeau to an NDP'er and you will get a vindictive rant and the man has been dead over 15 years. Sarah Palin is another example, six years since she was in public life and I can still get a rise out of the common leftie.

It is when that 'demon' has been cleared of wrongdoing, when the rap against him turns out to be completely false and they persist, is when it passes from mean politics to evil. There is a lot of hate in the left, they like to throw things and get dramatic in their tactics.

LOL. Yeah, only "the left" does that.

Saul Alinsky's been dead for 40 years and the right can't shut up about him.

That's because the Left is still practicing his "Ends justify the means" ideology

He should've just emailed his girl toy on his private server and then no one would care.

He was convicted of obstruction of justice and perjury. I suggest you educate yourself both with the nature of those crimes, the typical punishment that accompanies them, and specifically to the trial, and what he plead.

That is practiced by folks on both the left and right, ALL THE TIME!!!

If there was no crime, he couldn't really obstruct justice now, could he? Why was there no prosecution of the actual leaker?
