Florida Governor to Sue Obama Administration Over Medicaid Expansion

    http://www.nytimes.com/2015/04/17/us...l?ref=politics

No longer a purely partisan battle, the notion of expanding Medicaid has divided Republicans in Florida’s Legislature. The more conservative House of Representatives fiercely opposes the move. The Florida Senate, along with most hospitals, supports the idea and has already approved a private-sector version of Medicaid expansion. It wants to try to salvage the $50 billion in federal funds it would receive over the next decade that come with expansion and find a way to help hospitals recoup their costs.

The showdown in Florida is one of many playing out across the country as Republican governors grapple with whether, or how, to expand Medicaid. Ten states with Republican governors have decided to expand the program, like Indiana. But others have run afoul of Legislatures or backed off the plan.
    Thoughts on the lawsuit are?

Not only on public perception and reputation, but cops simply won't want to police these neighborhoods anymore.
The shooter was later found to be white.

The best part about this is that Florida would receive more aid if they simply expanded Medicaid.. But guess what Governor Scott, we live in a system of government called federalism, and in that system the federal government can withhold/cut funds from the lower levels of government if they see the need. Looks like you are on the wrong side of that coin..

yep because if he expands Medicaid then FL will need a state income tax to pay for the difference as it will add billions to the state Medicaid rolls.
I like not having to pay state income tax.

You do realize the cost is essentially all covered by the federal government? The states have to pick up around 2% of the cost...

Interesting, but one could easily say that Obamacare is the result of a president screwing over the interests of his citizens in the interest of protecting an ill-thought out personal political ideology.

Which equates too how much, exactly, for the state and from where is the money supposed to come? Actually, don't answer the second part unless your answer is something other than 'the rich.'

that is what they say but the devil is in the detail and when you look at the details well the deal doesn't become all that great anymore.
no they get hit with more than 2% of the costs, but then again you only believe what you are told.
