..and you can't make the assumption that is wasn't. The proof lies ONLY with him, not YOU and not ME. But based on how he phrased the statement, it's pretty obvious to those of us who are willing to set aside our emotional responses and look at this from as objective a POV as possible (instead of trying our best to make him sound a bad as possible) tha this is an analogy.

As long as Michigan law does not prohibit discrimination based on sexual orientation in public accommodations, I guess this mechanic can refuse to serve homosexuals if he damn well pleases. Not being a resident of that state, it is none of my business. Residents of Michigan who disagree with the state law are free to try to change it.

IF a car is involved in an accident as a result of his repairs, his words will be taken at face value. This is not a democratic politician where you have the chance to say what he meant.

The words on the paper are the words on the paper.

What do you think a jury would do with that? How many would think like you when there is an injured party involved?

Uh the man's character is sunken at the bottom of the mariana trench, or he would not be discriminating. The post on his rap sheet only reveals he's a complete hypocrite as well

The analogy fails since the selection of a sexual partner is not like the repairing of a vehicle. He should have stopped at asserting his right to refuse service to nearly anyone.

Because of one decision, the man's entire character is rotten in your opinion?? You must have a REALLY low opinion of Bill Clinton then... As far as his rap sheet is concerned, making a mistake over 15 years ago does not mean that he's a hypocrite, it means that he made a mistake over 15 years ago... or don't you believe that people can change and turn their lives around?? What you're doing is attacking him dishonestly for what he believes. If you don't like the choice he made - address that - there's no need to create stuff to dislike him for using the kind of dishonest crap that's getting thrown around on this thread.

In my very first post, I stated that it was poor analogy....
