The event organizers exercised their liberty. Sad that some people don't recognize that

What happened to the GOP's big tent? Any ideas on that?
    From your link:

"The event is organized by The Centennial Institute, a think tank affiliated with Colorado Christian University."

No Christian group should participate in an event where they give the impression that they accept homosexuality as normal or morally equivalent to heterosexuality

    Wellll:
    2015 WSJ/NBC poll
59% of all Americans support same sex marriage
40% of Republicans support same sex marriage
35% of conservatives support same sex marriage
29% of core Republican voters support same sex marriage
50% of Republican voters would be less favorable to a candidate who didn't support same sex marriage
    19% would be more favorable

Support for Gay Marriage Hits All-Time High — WSJ/NBC News Poll - Washington Wire - WSJ

    2014 Gallup
55% of all Americans in favor of same sex marriage
58% of independents in favor of same sex marriage
63% of moderates in favor of same sex marriage

Same-Sex Marriage Support Reaches New High at 55%

So yeah, tide is changing. Still think Republicans would do much better with younger voters if they eased way up on social issues. Highly doubt the "religious right," is going to bolt if they did. Who are they even going to vote for if they tried? Libertarians would probably be seen almost as bad as voting democrat, and not sure any of the smaller parties on the right even get on the ballot most of the time.

Gays that want to be included by Republicans are basically saying: "Listen, I'm okay with all of your laws which seek to discriminate against me, and I want to be accepted by you even though we don't agree on this particular issue which you support en masse". It's absurd. Why support a party who relies homophobia to get votes?
Well, I know a guy who is essentially the quintessential Republican (even religiously), but is an openly gay man who wants gay marriage, public accommodation laws, and so forth. He's very critical of social pressure onto society to change their religious beliefs about his lifestyle as well.

He's essentially a standard Republican that wants to be married and be treated equally under the law. With that, is it really surprising that he supports the GOP over the Democratic Party?

Apparently their tent has a good screen to keep out the bugs.

Well this is why no one who is gay should ever consider associating with repubs like this. Talk about getting slapped in the face and asking for more

Nah there are TONS of young voters who identify conservative but support gay rights. They won't vote for hillary, but they'll just stay home

No one i know pays any mind to midterms. The turnout is pathetic and congress is worthless, so it doesn't even matter who wins.
