Rubio tells donors he is running for White House

No, it's not a cheap shot. It's reality. I've repeatedly said that Hillary is not a candidate I favor, just that she's going to be far better than the competition. That's why she'll win, barring some unforeseen circumstance.

The rest of your post was borderline coherent.

What makes her "far better than the competition?" You must be speaking solely of ideology since her actual accomplishments are dwarfed by most of her competition.

Rubio tells donors he is running for White House

<snip>

MIAMI (AP) — Sen. Marco Rubio is telling his top donors that he is running for president because he feels "uniquely qualified" to pitch his Republican Party as one that will defend the American Dream.

The first-term Republican from Florida told his biggest backers on a conference call on Monday that he sees the coming presidential campaign as a choice between the past and the future. In a swipe at Democratic rival Hillary Rodham Clinton, Rubio said the former first lady "is a leader from yesterday."

Rubio says he has always felt the United States is about tomorrow.

Does he have a chance?

I fully expect the media to rally around Rubio the same way they did Obama. After all, his is a historic candidacy. In Rubio we have the first Hispanic candidate with a genuine chance to win the White House. The negative aspects of his past will be ignored and the media will swallow any vague platitudes he utters and spread them as if the were spoken by the Chosen One. Oh wait. Rubio is republican. Nevermind. The media will trash him

I know a lot of candidates run knowing they won't win. I'm sure Rubio knows he won't win. I'm sure Ron Paul knew he wouldn't win BUT Ron Paul had a message and point to get across that I think actually permeated across all Americans. My granddaddy ran for South Carolina state senate twice as a Republican. As a poor old chicken farmer, he didn't have much money, and if I remember right he won Lexington County and nothing more (Outside of Columbia). I don't specifically remember everything he was running for and he has since passed away, but my mom and grandma broke it down like this "In debates he would promise things that then the guys with more money and stature had to promise, things that dealt with agriculture, and being more fair to black workers." My granddad actually employed quite a few black folks for help on the farm and they all said they liked working more for him because he was nicer, fed them better, and paid better. I actually think they got paid about $150 a day vs. my granddad buying me a N64 game a week for the same amount of work lol. So my granddad yeah, didn't really think he would win, gained nothing financially, he just gained the respect of other farmers and people as well as maybe a few more customers to his tax business, and above all he was able to get other politicians to at least think about or promise things like Ron Paul was able to.

So what is Rubio's game? He doesn't strike me as a guy that is running to get the bigger guys to adopt his ideas, he strikes me as a guy running to maybe get a show on Fox News in the future.

It tells most people that I made the right decision because the alternative was Gore and Kerry. The fact that you want to divert from Gruber's comments is quite telling just like the fact that you love California politics and its economic conditions says a lot about you.

LOL....you might be able to sell that to the people on the boards if you didn't swoon over GWB the way that you do. I think the only people whom you idolize more is that Gruber guy. Its very telling how you put all of your trust in the words of one guy. Says a lot.

It isn't the words it is the results of Obama that generate my comments. Results don't seem to matter in the liberal world as rhetoric trumps actual results and data. You have proven over and over again that reality.

Love getting you to spout your empty rhetoric. I know the code words to elicit your responses. You long ago lost all credibility when you talk about "results" yet swoon over and idolize the Herbert Hoover of the 21st century.

It is people like you, not me, that causes the problem. Your lack of economics understanding along with the inability to actually research verifies your lack of credibility. Today there still aren't any economic results of Obama's that are better than Bush's and that is something the leftwing will never tell you but the results do.

Oh the irony.....why is it that those who are quick to claim someone is ignorant....are almost always the most uneducated and ignorant in reality? You talk a big game con but the "results" simply don't back up your rhetoric. Its almost like you are obsessed and believe it is your calling in life to try to rescue the failed legacy of GWB. I have never met a bigger apologist.

Then by all means post the Obama economic results that are better than Bush's, GDP growth? NO, Debt? NO, Labor force growth? NO Discouraged workers? NO, BEA.gov, BLS.gov, and the U.S. Treasury aren't your friend.

Bush vs. Obama on the Economy, In 3 Simple Charts [UPDATED]

The problem with people like you, Con is that you refuse to see the facts. You want to live in the reality that you have created in your own mind and you will spin and dance around the facts until you shuffle away. Any rational American will tell you that we are without a doubt better off today under Obama than we were under GWB ( the Herbert Hoover of the 21st Century ). The only real question is whether we should be better off than we are. Obama has definitely made some mistakes. But to try to pass GWB as the economic genius that you believe he is....is just downright laughable.

Did you donate to the liberal website? I prefer BLS, BEA, and Treasury over those partisan sites. Please show me the BLS data that shows 10 million jobs created? Seems you want to pick the point in time to make the numbers show exactly what you want. You voted for Obama to return us back to the levels before the recession began, took him 7 years to get there. When the recession began there were 146 million working Americans, Today there are 148 million working Americans. Even liberal math doesn't show 148 minus 146 equally 10 million jobs created.

There is a real problem with people like you, as you have way too much invested in a failed ideology where actual verifiable official data makes you look foolish and where personal responsibility doesn't exist. You see it is always someone else's fault in your world for personal failure. You are the kind of person who never takes responsibility for anything you do. Unlike you if I pull the trigger of a gun and kill someone I don't blame the gun manufacturer. If I take out a loan that has a variable rate and default, I don't blame the lender.

Now get away from the liberal sites and get the official data but more importantly stop making a fool of yourself.

LOL.....talk about a "cafeteria picker".....you have been shown countless time BLS numbers that don't match up with you claims and you simply shuffle away and dance around them. Sorry....but you love to cherry pick which is why no one takes you seriously. You are a GWB apologist who cannot stomach the fact that your "hero" left a mess and fortunately....we have someone that is cleaning up after him.

BTW Con....If you look closely....you would see that the numbers from the link I posted are based on BLS statistics. Just not the ones that you like to try to spin. DOH!

No, sorry, I have actually posted the chart but of course you ignored it because you want to believe what the left tells you. What is it about liberalism that creates this kind of loyalty?

What you did was ignore the Obama stimulus for shovel ready jobs and the lost jobs Obama created to take a point in time to show 10 million jobs created. You also ignored the discouraged workers who are at record high levels and not counted. Among the discouraged are over 7 million part time employees who want full time jobs but cannot get them.

And rightly so. Rubio is nothing but a hack. He couldn't even stand up to his own bill on immigration.

ROFLMAO, this coming from an Obama supporter?

I know you prefer a Community Agitator and got one in Obama.

Mornin Conservative. :2wave: Rubio is no hack and is a clear threat to Hillary. He would tear Hillary up in a Debate and while sipping water and gargling with it.

Hillary drops 10 pts. to GOP field - why?.....

The newest Public Policy Polling (PPP) National Presidential Poll reveals that Clinton's lead against her top conservative contenders has diminished to between 3 and 9 points — down from leading them by 7 to 10 points in its February poll. Just one month earlier in January, a Washington Post poll showed her lead was between 13 and 15 points against her top three rivals at the time (Jeb Bush, Mitt Romney and Rand Paul).

"Even with her advantage over the Republican field on the decline, Clinton is still clearly a stronger candidate than anyone else the Democrats might put forward at this point," PPP asserts. "Clinton leads Scott Walker, who currently leads in our national GOP polling, 46/42. By comparison Joe Biden (46/40) and Elizabeth Warren (43/39) would both trail Walker in hypothetical match ups."

In addition to Walker, two other GOP hopefuls come within four points of Clinton: Marco Rubio trails her just 46/43, and Rand Paul's deficit is 46/42," the PPP poll divulges. "Paul's numbers are interesting. He actually does better than anyone else on his side with independents, leading Clinton by 14 points at 47/33. But the 77 percent of the Republican vote he gets against Clinton is the lowest of any candidate other than Chris Christie.".....snip~

Its like many are saying now.....the longer she is in front of the public. The more her numbers will go down.

No. Rubio is clearly running for the VP slot or positioning himself for 2020. Similar to Cruz...positioning for 2020, Cruz' ego would never let him accept the VP slot.

I can't imagine why he'd want to be VP. He has a long career ahead of him and spending it in a position that is not a promotion doesn't seem very smart.

It absolutely amazes me how poorly informed liberals are and how they buy rhetoric over substance. Hillary is the political hack with titles but no accomplishments. Rubio is called a hack by people who buy the Hillary rhetoric and ignore his resume and experience.

I don't know how you guys survive the daily persecution. Everybody is so out to get you.
And I don't know how you survive here making such irrelevant points. No one said anyone was 'out to get me' I was simply pointing out the obvious that a Hispanic candidate like Rubio would be championed by the media if he were a democrat. Since you cant deny that obvious truth, you attack me. That's just a typical leftist tactic.

Playing the "persecuted by the media" card is a typical righttard tactic.

Its like I have been saying. Hillary isn't special for what she has done. She is special for what she wants to become.

I attribute this to many of them not wanting to know what the.....other side has to say. What they are doing etc etc.

Playing the "persecuted by the media" card is a typical righttard tactic.

Are you denying it? Or do you just have nothing better to say?

Oh and no one is claiming to be persecuted. I am simply pointing out the obvious bias and double standard. Maybe you should look up big words before using them.

Oh, I should have added, the only Hispanic in the GOP that has a chance of both winning the GOP nod and beating Hillary......is Jeb (pronounced "heb").
