Rubio tells donors he is running for White House

I stand by your post that you find it hard that Hillary and Bill would love their grandchild like every other grandparent.

Okay if you want to double down on your lying posts, have at it. Your hyperpartisanship is to be applauded, and your lying post is noted twice.

I guess I assumed that the hyperpartisans who read a post understand what the word "image" means in political campaigning, but I should know that some are just too clouded by their own partisanship the knees just jerk naturally.

You don't just find it strange, you find it disqualifying to be president. Which is more bizarre than staying with a serial cheater, as it puts the blame on the victim.

It's rare that such things are entirely a one-way street. Usually the couple bears responsibility in a failed relationship - it's not all one's fault while the other remains pristine and pure.

The Obama's also have great family photos. I guess that means Obama is a great president by your reckoning.

Means they're photogenic - both the Obama family and the Rubio family. I know this is rough for ya, but give it a try.

Especially against the much older and frail McCain. Just like it helped Kennedy against Nixon, and Clinton against Dole.

Yeah, remember the Democrats scurrilous campaign in 2008 was that McCain probably wouldn't survive his first term.

So it's Hillary's fault Bill cheated on her. Wow, I'm shocked to see a conservative say this.

Someone who finds a failed marital relationship MOST troubling and disqualifying would (if they are consistent) find the reverse MOST qualifying as a presidential attribute. Which is what vesper actually indicated by posting a photo of Rubio's family.

I said it bothered ME she stayed with him because what he did to her IMO was abusive. I never said it disqualified her.
And yes Obama's family pictures over the years have been very nice also.

And the one of Rubio and his wife and son is adorable

You said it was most troubling, even more so than her ideology, and then went on to blame Hillary for the marital troubles of her friend.

He is attractive and he has an attractive family. Shame on me for admitting this, but that's one of the reasons I always disliked Mike Huckabee as a candidate.

I hate ugle people too, who doesn't ?

We're talking candidacy here. Obama's visuals most definitely helped his candidacy.

Mornin JM :2wave: Exactly visuals.....and like BO. Rubio is young, and energetic. Even moreso than BO since Rubio is only 43. He has to just place in Iowa. Even though Iowans didn't think he was to conservative. They did give him high marks.

Rubio will be able to make up that ground in New Hampshire where more than likely he will win it being more moderate. (that's with who is in now for the GOP)

Also the thing is due to the Invisible primary.....Donors have been giving Rubio's some nods.

Another way is to talk to Republican voters directly or at least to poll them, as The Des Moines Register and Bloomberg Politics recently did in Iowa. That poll asked potential Republican caucusgoers whether they saw each of their candidates as “too conservative,” “too moderate” or “just right.” I’ve re-created that data below, removing voters who said they weren’t sure about the candidate from the sample.

Rubio and Walker, being lesser known, have more chance to shape their image. And they can make some electability arguments of their own. In Rubio’s case, it’s about being a Hispanic candidate from a swing state with a good life story; in Walker’s, it’s about having been elected in a blue-leaning swing state three times in four years.....snip~

Not nearly as scurrilous as what Bush-43 did to McCain in the 2000 South Carolina primary, your neck of the woods .

Hubby was watching the speech and his comment was, "Dang, he's wife is hot!"

There ya go again. What makes you think that their relationship and it's faults lay entirely at the feet of one person in that relationship alone?

Looks like the Rubios have a good relationship, and perhaps the Clintons have their own version of one as well - though it seems questionable. Sometimes a photo is just a photo, and sometimes most of us like to celebrate family photos - because they are families with all the successes and problems families have. These are things most of us can identify with. Why are you so bitter?

Mornin JM

Shortened for band width.
Only one-third of Iowa's registered voters are GOP, with roughly one-third DEM and one-third Independent.
It's a closed primary--so let's see if there's a move to reregister indies .

I saw Rubio on Morning Joe, and a bit of his speech last night.
He seems to be the most thoughtful of the GOP - saying he wouldn't immediately repeal DAPA/DACA (whatever),
but would work to phase it out..etc.

I normally would want a governor now after a Senator who couldn't work with Congress..
for now at least I like him best in the GOP....

Speaking of.....Here is Rubio's Speech and Campaign Platform. A New American Century. He emphasized on the word.....New!

It is most troubling when I see a woman allow herself to remain in a relationship when her spouse continually cheats on her which amounts to abusive behavior.

I like this pic too!

Mornin Nimby. :2wave: Don't worry I know all about the boom box. I was only looking at the GOP primary and what Rubio has going with other Republicans. As noted by the Chart from Nate Silver. Iowans don't see Rubio as to Conservative. But still give him High marks.

Carson is fill in fodder and will take votes away from others. But he wont take NH or SC. Then there is Paul and Cruz.

So again, Rubio according to 538 is sitting close to the Sweet Spot.

Moreover, if you check the polls for Bush in Florida recently. He isn't as well off as he should be. Rubio is at least thought of, off the top.

I must admit Rubio came off pretty well not reading from key cards like most candidates. His youth just may wend up pushing further than most expect. I am not committed to which rep. I prefer as it is way too early but after watching that young man are we really able to stomach an old, worn out cliché like Hillary? We need new blood so Bush and Clinton go away.

Unless Walker keeps tripping over his own tongue, he wins a state like Iowa where only one-third of the electorate is registered GOP, and very conservative, in that closed primary.

Rep. King will remind voters of Rubio's Dream Act, which he's tried to walk back after getting booed in front of TEA audiences.

Meanwhile, Walker gets a pass on his 'etch-a-sketching' on comprehensive immigration reform .

Well that's way Silver figures it.....with Walker and if he don't screw up. But Rubio only needs to make a showing or place there.

His best chance would be to take Kasich. Then the Repubs wrap up Florida and Ohio. Won't matter who the Demos have at that point. They have to hope Kasich wont jump in.

The most appealing this about Walker for me is that he is battled tested and pre-vetted. If there was serious dirt on Walker it would have been found by now.

I didn't say it did. Why is Clinton being blamed not only for her side of the relationship, but for Bill's as well?

Why are you so bitter?

About?

I feel the same about Rubio in that if there was any dirt on him, it would have come out by now. Walker is a good candidate and his executive experience is a plus. Personally, I think there are a number of fine candidates that would make a very good president.

Is South Carolina my neck of the woods? I'm in Washington DC. South Carolina is about as much "my neck of the woods" as Indianapolis.

And yeah, wasn't a fan of Bush either. And hey, yet another comparison of Obama to Bush.
