A Stagnant Church: Regarding the growth of Christianity “many now believe that the Korean church, on the whole, is in a season of decline. While Korea is often cited as being 30-35% Christian, the most recent census numbers indicate that that number has decreased to about 18%. While this is still a staggering number for Asia, the drastic decline is hard to ignore. Furthermore, it is now the case that less than 2% of 20-somethings regularly attend church, leading us to believe that Korea’s religious future may look quite a bit like that of other developed nations. Yes, there was a cultural moment 20 or 30 years ago when an attractional, come-and-see model produced results and numbers, but this is simply no longer the case.”

Its popularity has peaked some time ago in Korea and the young people are now abandoning it en mass. It mirrors the decline in Christianity seen in most other developed and better educated countries. Once people learn to use their cognitive and reasoning facilities instead of superstition and fear ,religion dies

Sorry, you have bad information on that.

The fact is that the growth of Christianity in South Korea mirrors its economic success. That's the opposite of what you folks believe.

Not only that, but America thrived for over two centuries as a predominately Christian nation, and now that secularism and paganism have come in, America is on the decline.

We also see atheist countries like North Korea living in poverty.

Well thats your opinion. I'd say a religious demographic where only 2% (and falling) of 20 somethings attend church is a religion in deep doo doo for the future

Yes but it peaked some time ago and is now in rapid decline as was illustrated

The US decline has little to do with religion

We also see atheist countries like North Korea living in poverty.
And we also see almost mostly atheist countries like Norway Sweden or Denmark having amongst the highest per capita living standards in the World

I could just as easily misinterpret your photo as North Korea doing its bit for global warming and that would be just as idiotic an assertion !

You seem to be a one trick pony. Conflating religion and politics when the going gets tough

Yeah Norways the way to go...
The healthcare is free for all! Yay! Except for problems with cutbacks, long waits to get surgery, few hospitals so patients wait in the corridors. Can't wait for those death panels

You also have that cool thing for liberals to do, Anti-Semitism! Yay! Where in Norway its become such a serious threat that many Jews are emigrating to Israel and elsewhere to escape it. Human rights activists, police and leaders of the rapidly shrinking Jewish community fear that soon, for the first time in centuries, Jews will have no visible presence in Norway at all.

Domestic violence is staggering. As According to Norwegian police statistics, 5,284 cases of domestic violence were reported in 2008. These cases ranged from serious acts of violence such as murder and attempted murder to physical assault. The number of reported cases of domestic violence increased by 500 percent from 2005 to 2011. Atheist womens paradise you ten to see a lot of sexism in the atheist movement reported by atheist women themselves. It doesn't help that Richard Dawkins...

And don't get me started on their drug problems. So yeah, Norway is a perfect example indeed

An American criticizing Norwegian crime rates which are some of the lowest on Earth across all categories ! And this has exactly what to do with their religion ?
