My theological training has all be self-directed, or rather at His hand. So my perspective is termed "fresh" in theological circles.

The longer I walk with this Jewish Carpenter the more how I see His whole point of being here has been grossly mis-understood. He gave no law but one, the "mandatum magnum" ..."love one another".

In some Christian faiths, women are still second class, they can't even preach based on one line in a letter from Paul. And yet we have the acts of Jesus, he "had to cross the Jordan" and enter Samaria [who were despised by Jews].....and what did he do?

He met and spoke with a woman in the middle of the day as an equal. That alone was viewed as a "sin' in some sects of His faith and certainly a gross social insult, as men did not lower themselves to speak to women in public save to give them orders.

And what does Jesus do with this prostitute who has "five husbands"? at the end of his little talk, he sends he away with the words "now, go, and tell them I have come."

In other words, go preach of me to Samaria. He broke every social tenet to speak to a woman, broke more as she was morally judged, and then gives her the responsibility of delivery His message accurately.

That is not keeping women in their place, and it is not judging on moral grounds, a woman hooker as preacher is what HE is all about

There is a book called "The Ragamuffin Gospels"....worth reading

Christianity (or should I say, the gift of Christ as an expression of grace to reconcile the sin full man to the perfect God) is so often misunderstood by Christians and even more by those outside the faith. You well articulated the heart of it.

I don't know what constitutes an attack in your mind, but for anyone watching a bit too much of Fractured Fairy Tales instead of keeping up with current events, here's a recent sample of what they've been missing:

Muslim groups attack Egyptian Copts over church honoring Christians killed by ISIS

Islamic State Militants Destroy Church In Syria On Easter

Kenya attack victims: Vigil mourns 147 slain in Garissa - CNN.com

Taliban bombers target Christian worshippers in Lahore | Pakistan Today

By comparison, Western Christians should be thankful if they're just called "bigots."

I mean really, really. Take a tour of any graveyard from Mexico to South America. Headstones litter the place with the name Jesus.

    Thank you.

One of the reasons I quit God as a kid as I could not reconcile a God who would "create us in his image" and then punish us for being what he created. After a few decades of damaging myself with alcohol and drugs I found out rather dramatically that He even saved the sorry ass of people who hated him, me. for two years plus in AA I agreed to have a "higher power" but "die before I become a damned Christian.

I am the "reluctant apostle" who never wanted to be here redeemed anyway; a recovered drug addict wondering "why" me in sobering up and arrogant enough to think I deserved not only a meeting, but an answer.

This guy is so cool he is is delivering on a daily basis, we'll get to why one day I suppose, but right now I got an obsession on 'what is the yoke of Christ' and His "burden that is easy and light".

Tell that to Christian business owners losing their businesses because of trumped up hate from the LBGT community.

Oh please....provide a number regarding how many "businesses" have been lost, and then please let us know if that's because of "christianity" - or perhaps because of those douche-bag business owners and their insane personal interpretation of christianity.

Ah, I see. It's not because they are Christian but because they actually live by their beliefs then. You've got Google, you can look it up if you like, but you won't. Personally I have never seen gay people discriminated against, so I guess it never happens. Interesting enough we do not see other religions attacked in the same way. Islam says to kill homosexuals, and yet we don't hear anything from the gay community about that. It also treats women as property, and yet the feminists don't seem to know it, or at least they don't say anything about it. There is most certainly discrimination toward Christians, I suspect the reason Muslims and Christians are treated differently by these groups is that if you attack Muslims they just might kill you. Our President pointed out that Christians were barbaric during the Crusades, perhaps we should go back to that.

Public accommodation laws =/= being under attack

You do realize that I specifically said the West, correct? I definitely emphasized that.

But yes, in other countries, Christians are unfortunately being attacked.
