US Declassifies Document Revealing Israel's Nuclear Program

Don't you think Obama should have at least consulted with Israel before doing it?

You ,mean as Israel has consulted with the USA while Obama has been POTUS and Bibi the GOP President.

How short of a memory you folks have with the speech to Congress, racist remarks about Israeli Arabs, and etch-a-sketching about the two-state solution.

And by all means give Israel a pass on spying on the Iranian talks.
Defended by GOPs with blatantly irrational lying talking points that GOPs in Congress haven't been informed .

So we should disown Israel in all respects ?
Since no one is doing that, this remark would land you in the DP Blatant Irrational Lying Zone--aka BIL Zone .

Hmm... let's see... petty, full of derision, antagonistic, immature....
That definitely describes Benedict Boehner and the GOP President Bibi.
The very same Bibi who lyingly tries to take back his two-state etch-a-sketches and anti-Israeli Arab racist remarks.
And the liar Boehner who denies knowledge of Israeli spying .

This was a horribly unwise decision on Obama's part. Horribly. I'm... gobsmacked that he would do anything that he clearly must know will have massive global reverberations, not to mention showing the rest of our allies that we'll only keep their secrets as long as they vote for people we approve of. I mean, oy vey!! :(

And by all means give Israel a pass on spying on the Iranian talks.
Oh golly, let me see, why would Israel spook the talk with the Iranians??...Golly I dunno , maybe because Israel was kept out of the talks and the result of said talks directly effect their ability to survive as a nation?...maybe?

Defended by GOPs with blatantly irrational lying talking points that GOPs in Congress haven't been informed
. Oh so I get it, Obama can misuse his power to circumvent congress, but congress isn't allowed to circumvent the sniveling Charlie Foxtrot in the WH?

Gruber was right!

Try reading the Constitution as to who conducts these talks.
You know, the holy grail of Conservatives.

You mean so Israel can leak the details of the talks as they have already proven they will do with their spying.

Gruber was right!
That would be a blatant irrational lie that Congress has been circumvented--as proven by the McDonough letter to Sen. Corker.

Israel’s partisans hold important influence over France’s government and ruling Socialist Party. France secretly supplied Israel with nuclear weapons capability in the 1950’s.
Both Britain’s parties are similarly beholden to pro-Israel donors. Germany remains very timid in foreign policy and does pretty much what Israel demands, even supplying Israel with submarines to carry nuclear-tipped cruise missiles.
Russia’s Vlad Putin is quite pro-Israel and never forgets there are one million former Russians now living in Israel. China has wisely stayed out of the Arab-Israeli dispute. So short of the US, no power can force Israel out of its annexed lands.
Most Israelis will be happy with the electoral outcome. Poll show some 75% of Israelis oppose creation of a Palestinian state and don’t want to live near Arabs, whom many calls “Wild animals.” Their mood is somewhere to the right of white South Africans during the apartheid era. Israel’s center-left, led by Ashkenazi European Jews has been shattered. Mideastern Jews and Russian emigrants now call the shots.
Israelis moan and groan a lot about their economic woes but in fact their per capita income, boosted by over $3 billion in annual US aid, is higher than Italy’s and close to that of Western Europe. Israel’s military and high tech industries are by now world leaders.
Israel’s mighty military could conquer the central Mideast, including Egypt and Saudi Arabia, in a week. With over 200 nuclear weapons – why so many one wonders – Israel is unassailable. Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Morocco, Egypt and the United Arab Emirates are tacit allies. Israel controls the flow of the US aid that keeps Egypt from starving thanks to its hammerlock on Congress.
So who will push Israel back to its 1967 borders? Not al-Qaida which has only a few hundred active members. Not the Islamic State gang of thugs which excels at online PR and fighting inept Arab forces. Not an EU boycott: Israel values the conquered West Bank – and don’t forget strategic Golan – more than shipping tomatoes to Europe. Not Iran, which is militarily decrepit and unable to project power – and which has no nuclear weapons or the means to deliver them.
The Arab world had only three significant military powers: Egypt, Syria and Iraq. Egypt has been bought off and has become the first real Arab neo-fascist state. Syria and Iraq lie in ruins thanks to US intervention.
The dream of the 1920’s Zionist theoretician Vladimir Jabotinsky – the guiding light of the Netanyahu family – is coming true: a few heavy blows to the brittle mosaic of the Arab world will bring down its regimes and open the way to Greater Israel.
No wonder Israel’s founding father, David Ben Gurion, refused to define his new nation’s eastern borders. War hero Moshe Dayan asserted it was not his generation’s right to define these borders – but up to future generations.
The recent discovery of huge underwater gas and oil fields between Israel/Palestine and Cyprus are a bonanza for Israel, which will shortly become a net energy exporter. Secret deals between Israel and the Kurds are bringing more oil to the Mediterranean coast through Turkey.
As for the Palestinians, they don’t seem to have much hope. Chances for even a rickety, feeble Bantustan state on the West Bank are gone. Netanyahu declared no Palestinian state at the end of the elections race. He will, of course, continue flirting with the US and EU over this worn-out question, making small tactical concessions to allow his western allies to continue going along with the charade that “peace talks” are still alive. They are not and have not been for a decade. It just suits the western powers to continue this deceitful game while Israel relentlessly annexes the Occupied Territories.
Palestinians will do well to be rid of their aged, useless puppet leader, Mahmoud Abbas. Hamas, locked up in Gaza by Israel and Egypt, will be the real Palestinian voice. Many of them will think of emigrating from Palestine, which is just what Israel wants as it continues to bulldoze and cement over the West Bank. Occupied Golan, from which 230,000 Syrians were ethnically cleansed after 1967, will be forgotten, becoming part of Greater Israel.
Israelis have shown they don’t want to be part of the neighboring Arab world, any more than many white South Africans wanted to join black Africa. They want to stand alone behind their high walls, their restive Arab populations locked away in tribal reservations. Israel has the land, the water and now the energy, and intends to keep them all.
And why not. Israel and King Bibi now hold all the high cards.'

so we are now in a cold war with Israel?

This was a horribly unwise decision on Obama's part. Horribly. I'm... gobsmacked that he would do anything that he clearly must know will have massive global reverberations, not to mention showing the rest of our allies that we'll only keep their secrets as long as they vote for people we approve of. I mean, oy vey!! :(

How is it going to have massive global reverberations? Everyone on earth already knew that Israel had nuclear weapons. This was declassified before the Israeli election. Moreover what is Israel doing for us other than taking our money as historically the world's largest recipient of US foreign aid?

I don't know whose side the right wingers on here are on. Maybe if they stopped blowing Bibi for a minute they could tell us, but I am on team USA. So when a country spies on us, has a huge lobby that does nothing but try to get more of our taxpayer money out of us, and then has the nerve to give a big F*** You to our president (regardless of who the president is) despite the fact that he comes here cup in hand wanting our money every chance they get, then I really don't care if they get their feelings hurt when we tell the world what everyone in the world already knew.

So do you really think Israel would or should let a muslim appeasing weasel like Obama negotiate the future of Israel without demanding to know the terms of the negotiation? Is that the rational thought-process of the standard liberal??

That definitely describes Benedict Boehner and the GOP President Bibi.
The very same Bibi who lyingly tries to take back his two-state etch-a-sketches and anti-Israeli Arab racist remarks.

Lol !

Obama: " Dont worry folks, your secrets are safe with me "

Our Allies : " Yaaay, thank you Obama !! "

Obama : " Well, at least until you piss me off "..

Our Allies : " Huh " ??

Your'e stuck in la la land rattling off incoherent left wing nonsense.

Obama just exposed decades old Israeli secrets because hes a petulant child in a Man's body.

No other reason.

Sorry, but this decision isn't based on anything other than Obama's petulant mood swings.

He's basically told our allies that your secrets are safe with me just as long as you dont piss me off.

This decision doesn't target or hurt Bibi, it endangers a Country full of people that are supposed to be our allies.

Not all Israelis are Conservatives. This was a foolish, childish act and it was done out of spite.

Democrats and Obama supporters should be embarrassed.

US Declassifies Document on Israel's Nuclear Power - News from America - News - Arutz Sheva

" In a development that has largely been missed by mainstream media, the Pentagon early last month quietly declassified a Department of Defense top-secret document detailing Israel's nuclear program, a highly covert topic that Israel has never formally announced to avoid a regional nuclear arms race, and which the US until now has respected by remaining silent.

But by publishing the declassified document from 1987, the US reportedly breached the silent agreement to keep quiet on Israel's nuclear powers for the first time ever, detailing the nuclear program in great depth."

Obama acting like a insolent child again and or showing his true colors....unreal. Americans elected a man child.

Considering the freak in Israel, it's quite deserved!

Does anyone really think that the rest of the world actually believed that Israel didn't have nuclear weapons because of the lack of official corroboration? I'm sure a lot of people didn't even know it was supposed to be a secret.

We released TS information about their program, that's the problem. The semi-recognized existence of Israeli nukes is a separate issue to the fact that we have just demonstrated we are not trustworthy enough to share classified information with.

Perhaps bringing it down a level. I am pretty sure that you have a social security number, a bank account number, and a routing number associated with that account. In fact, probably most of us are sure that you have these things.

But If I were a trusted member of your family, or friend, and I used that trust to get that information and then used it to either steal your identity or sell it so that others could do so, you'd still be pretty pissed, wouldn't you? You wouldn't respond "oh well, everyone already knew I had a bank account....". You'd be pissed at the loss, and you'd be pissed that I'd violated your trust. And you wouldn't trust me the next time I asked if I could borrow your credit card, either.

Considering the freak in Israel, it's quite deserved!

Wow

You're so wrapped up in Israeli hate you can't even offer up a intelligent reply.

Doing this doesn't hurt Bibi, it threatens the Security of ALL ISRAELI citizens, even left wing progressive and Arabs.

How " Presidential ". Obama basically telling all US allies that their state secrets are safe with him as long as they dont piss him off.

The US has contributed hugely to the destruction of the ME, on this the libertarian party agrees with me.

Yep, Iraq went from its Citizens being able to participate in a Democratic process for the first time in decades to a Country thats being overrun by murderous Islamo-fascist.

Obama's political decision to remove all remnants of American militarily assets did contribute to the destruction of the ME.

Fenton, considering you skipped my post because it doesn't fit your woe-is-Israel narrative: Would this information have made us look less hypocritical if it was obtained through other means? We've had 28 years to come clean about this. That's 28 years of Reagan, Bush I, Clinton, Bush II, and now Obama where we could have avoided NOT loosing serious leverage by simply applying the SAME standard to every Middle Eastern country.

If nothing else Israel put itself in danger by advocating that a standard be applied to everyone EXCEPT itself for the past 28 years. That you continue to ignore this so you can accuse people of hating Israel and blame Obama makes your understanding of global politics seem ABSURD.

You make a very good point here. Why would any of our allies now entrust us with anything secrete of theirs after this?

Give me one good reason for doing this.

And of-course I blame Obama. He's the President and this happened under his administration.

He made the decision to disclose decades old secrets and his decision wasn't based on anything other than spite.

He's supposed to be a Leader, but this latest decision just shows how superficial and petty of a individual he is.

It should embarrass the hell out of any American and especially his supporters.

It seems Ron Paul agrees with you (as do I):

'Clearly, the world would be a better place today with Saddam Hussein still in power. The only workable way to bring democracy and liberty to the Middle East is through persuasion, not violence.'

He discusses it at 4:35 of the video.

I'm very pro-Israel, but can't stand Netanyahu. That isn't the point. The point is that we have deliberately and publicly betrayed an ally because it's president dissed our president. Tit for tat might make the world go 'round, but not tit for tat public disclosure. As I understand these documents, they don't just say, "Hey world, it's true that Israel has nukes!" They say, "Hey world, it's true Israel has nukes, and here's all the secret plans and blueprints for 'em!"

I'm not a huge Obama fan, but I've never gone out of my way to insult him and always hope that his actions will be best for the country. This monumental act of stupid struck me like a fist to the face. It looks petulant and punitive given the timing, and no American hopes that the world will view their president as petulant and punitive.

I'm disappointed that he did this, and that's putting it mildly.
