Saudi Arabia Begins Air Campaign in Yemen

Now just think if they had moved so quickly on ISIS. Didn't take them no time to come together here, huh?

Thats a good point, I think they are always more afraid of conventional states than they are about terror. The US, being the big dogs, actually see the reverse many times.

Lol. The Sunnis feel like the US has betrayed them.

Our biggest imports come from Canada, Saudi Arabia, Mexico, Venezuela and Russia. Just looking at that list, it would have been real advantageous for Obama to have signed Keystone. You can thank a couple of Democrats for not giving the Senate the super majority to override Obama's veto. Relations with Russia, Venezuela and Mexico aren't exactly stellar either. Makes the words "drill baby drill" almost prophetic. Instead Obama is squeezing the fossil fuel industry with major EPA regulations and has spent billions in building windmills to save the drowning polar bears.

It looks like the stage is being set for a Shiite/Sunni civil war and where is our president and John F-ing Kerry? Ready to give Iran their blessing for a nuclear weapon and the Sunnis/Egyptians/Israelis feel like the U.S. has betrayed them.

Agreed, it should be a no-brainer to be less dependent on foreign oil but the left is bound by its environmentalism and anti-capitalism.

We are now in the position where our President is aiding one sect in one region (led by one regional power) and doing the precise opposite in another.

What strange days, only 2 terms of hope and change could do this.

Saudi has mobilised a Sunni coalition against the Shia Huthi rebels, who are taking advantage of the military incompetence of the Sunni Yemeni government. They want more representation in what has been a relatively non-sectarian political scene.
Saudi are merely pushing Wahabism, increasing division to their own advantage.

Lol. The Sunnis feel like the US has betrayed them.

As for sunni states (not terrorist groups) the US has always been generally friendly to Sunni's-and Israel for that matter.
Obama wants to upset that balance, his dogma preaches that it will lead to peace.

Well hows that working out?

Yeah, especially when the terror is coming from Sunni Groups like AQ, Ansar al Sharia, and ISIS. We really should let them know that we know that they know who is who.

The Saudis and other Sunni's have been watching Iran expanding its "empire" across the ME for years. The Saudi's were invited into Yemen by the Yemeni govt.

Iran wants more representation as well, lets not pretend they haven't been arming the Houthis and AQ. Its going to be real hard for you to paint this as a one sided war.

Conversely its real easy to show Obama was wrong when he called Yemen a success story.

But your list of known terrorist organizations funded by Iran is wanting...... what about the Qods Force providing training to the Taliban in Afghanistan? Hezbollah, Hamas, Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine based in Syria? And the arms and warfare Iran has provided Assad against the Syrian Rebels? And what about Palestinian Islamic Jihad? All these terrorist groups are funded by Iran. And everywhere they are there is death and carnage. Often killing innocent Muslims and our servicemen.

The "Yemeni government" is holed up in the Southern port town of Aden. The Capital, Sanaa, fell to the Northern rebels weeks ago.

Obama has been worst on Foreign Policy and immigration, but it is really hard to pick a 'good side' in the Muslim Middle East/Carnage central.

While supporting this coalition against Iran, we are also supporting the Shi-Raqi-Ranians in Tikrit, with Apache Helicopter gunships.

Unless ISIS get's close to the Kurds, or someone we really care about, let the Shi-Raqi-Ranians take big losses in fighting ISIS.

I mean, if kept in bounds, like Northern Iraq, this a DREAM War.
Let em fight for the rest of the Decade/Century, til there are no radicals left on either side.

True. It was only a matter of time, frankly before this happened. I'd like to think it will remain a local war, my big concern is with terrorism-terror thrives in such environments but keeping Iran and SA busy with each other is also a good thing.

Picking sides in a civil war and you agree with the side that Obama's picking. What's your problem then, hmm?

The Obama administration has supported terrorist groups!

From The New York Times:

Egypt said Thursday that it was prepared to send troops into Yemen as part of a Saudi-led campaign against the Iranian-backed Houthi movement, signaling the possibility of a protracted ground war on the tip of the Arabian Peninsula.

A day after Saudi Arabia and a coalition of nine other states began hammering the Houthis with airstrikes and blockading the Yemeni coast, President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi of Egypt said in a statement that the country’s navy and air force would join the campaign. The Egyptian Army, the largest in the Arab world, was ready to send ground troops “if necessary,” Mr. Sisi said.

Even a broken clock is right twice a day. And Im not picking sides, either. Im for defending the US 's best interests.

And that would apparently be defending Obama and the Sunnis, lol. Welcome to your steel toes hahaha, oh it gets no better than this folks.

You, Obama and the Sunnis in the same camp.

Today you say he is in the Sunni camp, yesterday in the Israeli camp, tomorrow in the Iranian camp. Hope those camps have golf courses.

Obama has picked sides in what is now clearly a civil war between two ancient sects. Made possible by US policy in the region. And he is in support of that.

Has he picked sides in Iraq, where is he effectively the Iranian air force?
