Could split like it was before?
But clear the Saudi's have had enough.
And it is past the time they get their hands dirty.
US can sit back and watch.

ISTANBUL (Reuters) - Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan accused Iran on Thursday of trying to dominate the Middle East and said its efforts have begun annoying Ankara, as well as Saudi Arabia and Gulf Arab countries.

"Iran is trying to dominate the region," said Erdogan, who is due to visit Tehran in early April. "Could this be allowed? This has begun annoying us, Saudi Arabia and the Gulf countries. This is really not tolerable and Iran has to see this," he added in a press conference......snip~

Turkey with the present dictator (Erdogan pulling the strings as president) heading -pushing Turkey towards becoming an Islamic State.
Erdogan is the biggest long term threat to Turkey.

The US wont sit back, it has at the very least to protect sea lanes past yemen, and its already providing intelligence to the Saudi's.

The only side that benefits from this conflict across the board is ISIS, both in Yemen, and elsewhere.

The real question is what this will do to US-Russian relations.

As for a split-thats unlikely anytime soon-whatever happens this will be a drawn out conflict, the Yemenese certainly dont like foreign intervention and it could easily take a conflict to the mountains and deserts for years and years.

And the driving powers Iran and SA, both have a real incentive to beat the other here. I can see Iran committing conventional forces here like they have in Syria if they need to. Its not going to end well.

Iran imho will not commit troops.
Iraq is their long term priority. Perhaps we may see a merger in the future as at one time they were part of Persia. That won't go well with minorities or the rest of the world.

Id be surprised, of course Iran is essentially getting its way as is so maybe they will play nice.

Iraq? Its certainly a way to expand the Iranian empire, but so is Syria.

ISIS and AQ are the real beneficiaries here-while the cats away.

Syria, no imho, Iraq 60 % Shia. The vast majority are Shia.
What we could be witnessing is the start of the breakdown of the WW1 imposed borders in the ME. Who knows.

Yemen's president showed up today in Saudi Arabia. And the Sauds did not inform the U.S. before they started the bombing raid. They have to secure the sea passage not only for themselves but all imports/exports from Jordan, Egypt and other places. If the Iranians take control of them it could be a disaster to the economy because they would have to travel all the way around Africa which would slow down deliveries and cause a greater expense.

Yes its a freaking powderkeg. There is some promise in seeing relatively western friendly (or at least not hostile) islamic nations working together, but in the end Im really only concerned with our interests in the region, and that consists mostly of oil, and terrorism.
