The Saudi's are an American ally invading Yemen while Iranian proxies fight them. At the same time Iran is in Iraq and also in the middle of nuke talks with the US.

Iran went after Yemen for the sole purpose of gaining control over the gulf of Aden.
The gulf-states, Egypt and Jordan have no intention to let that happen, as they shouldn't.

So far, the Sunni coalition forces include Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Egypt, Pakistan, Sudan, UAE, Bahrain, Qatar, and Morocco. The US is lending reconnaissance and intelligence data.

SA has suspended international and domestic air traffic at seven southern airports. The UAE has turned off Yemen TV. It is reported that fleeing Yemeni president Hadi is now in Oman. Al Houthi reports that Sana'a International Airport has been struck with many civilian dead. The Saudi air force says that Houthi anti-air systems have been neutralized. Saudi jets struck Houthi positions in their stronghold province of Saada near the Saudi border and also struck the compound of the US-trained Yemeni Special Forces which is controlled by former president Ali Abdullah Saleh who is allied with the Houthi.

Iran termed the coalition operation an "invasion" and a "dangerous step" that will worsen the crisis in Yemen.

Well, not just tonight. But yes, it's not meant as a support of those figures, other than to say that they gave no quarters to the groups that now have enflamed the Middle East. Power vacuums last but a moment.

Not so much in real life don't you think ?
Irrelevant - have anything on topic to discuss? Perhaps you think the Yemen success is a model to use going forward.... please tell me all about it.

It appears the Saud has requested for ground forces to go in.....the escalation prompted Putin to contact Iran.

Russia's Putin to Iran: Immediate ceasefire needed in Yemen.....

MOSCOW (Reuters) - Russia's President Vladimir Putin called for an "immediate cessation of military activities" in Yemen in phone conversations with Iran's President Hassan Rouhani, the Kremlin said in a statement on Thursday.

Iranian-backed Shi'ite Muslim Houthi militias have seized large parts of Yemen. The conflict deepened on Thursday when warplanes from Sunni Muslim power Saudi Arabia attacked Houthi positions in Yemen, drawing protests from Tehran......snip~

ISTANBUL (Reuters) - President Tayyip Erdogan was quoted on Thursday as saying Turkey may consider providing logistical support to the Saudi-led military mission in Yemen and called on Iran and "terrorist groups" to withdraw from the country.

ISLAMABAD (Reuters) - Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif's office said on Thursday any threat to Saudi Arabia would "evoke a strong response" from Islamabad. Just as had been the case with Bahrain, it appears that Saudi Arabia and neighboring states may have drawn a line on preventing Shia movements from toppling governments in adjacent states. The Gulf Cooperation Council's military intervention to quash a Shia uprising in Bahrain very likely deprived Iran from gaining an ability to blockade the Persian Gulf, a development that could have facilitated Iran's drive for regional hegemony. Whether or not Saudi Arabia and its regional alies send ground forces into Yemen to restore order after using air power to degrade the Houthi militants remains to be seen. If they do, not only will such a development hold the possibility of strengthening regional stability, but it could also signal a new more assertive national security doctrine on the part of Saudi Arabia and its regional allies.

Looks like they have already secured the southern tip of the red sea, and the US will help keep it open...
Egypt seizes Bab el Mandeb ahead of Iran. Saudis bomb Iran-backed Yemeni Houthis. US launches air strikes over Tikrit

U.S. will work to ensure Bab-el-Mandeb strait remains open -U.S. general | Reuters

And Im reading reports (twitter) that Turkey and Sudan are joining coalition forces.

Seems lots of nations are worried about Iranian power expanding into Yemen.
