Re: Bowe Bergdahl, once missing U.S. soldier, charged with desertion

For the sake of a fair trial, I am waiting to hear if he is convicted or not.

If he is, may his soul rot in hell, there is no greater sin than treason (or severe betrayal in any form) in my eyes.

If he is found innocent, I'd be damned for having called a soldier of ours a little ****.

    Just wait, that's all.

Considering he hasn't been convicted of anything, no it hasn't turned out to be true. Or do you know something that I don't?

The two charges news conference is going on now. No discussion about the 2014 investigation will be discussed to keep impartiality during the USMCJ. An article 32 preliminary hearing (like a Grand Jury hearing) will be coming. IF found guilty on both charges, a maximum incarceration of life in prison could be levied. No death penalty was discussed so that is not an option according to the press conference.

This is quite a difference and contrast from Susan Rice, National Security Adviser saying Bergdahl “served the United States with honor and distinction.”
5 Taliban leaders go free probably to wreak havoc and death upon us and our allies. The one we traded the 5 Taliban leaders for goes to jail. Is there any logic behind this?
This Reform Party member thinks it is high past time that we start electing Americans to congress and the presidency who put America first and their political party further down the line. But for way too long we have been electing Republicans and Democrats who happen to be Americans instead of Americans who happen to be Republicans and Democrats.

You are right, he hasn't been convicted, but I don't think there is a lot of doubt at this point that he voluntarily walked away from his unit. But like I said earlier, I don't fault Obama for trying to get the guy back. I think the way he went about it is what is causing the problems. As your quote from McCain at the beginning of this thread showed, he was not opposed to the idea of a prisoner swap. Had Obama approached Mccain with a potential deal, he might have gone along with it and be defending Obama right now.

But if Obama wants to use his pen and his phone and go it alone, then he really cant expect a lot of support and good cheer from the legislative branch.

Well, hell. Let's let them all out. Maybe we can free up some goats on the next trade?

    What?

What his platoon members knew when he deserted in 2009, the US Military investigators knew.
What the US Military investigators knew, the DOD and Pentagon knew.
What the the DOD and Pentagon knew, President Obama knew.

What his platoon members, the US Military investigators, the DOD, the Pentagon and President Obama knew, the American public DID NOT KNOW. The official line from the Military and the Obama Administration was that Bergdahl served with honor and was in good standing with the military, continuing to receive promotions based on time served in uniform the entire time he was with the Taliban.

Whether Susan Rice made those statements about Bergdahl knowing they were false and misleading or not, is totally irrelevant. She spoke on behalf of the Obama Administration just as she did on Benghazi, from the talking points they issued to her.

Republican's, conservatives and everyone else who supported a trade for Bergdahl, either:
    a) didn't know that he did in fact desert and left his post in the dead of night to seek out the enemy.
    b) did not know that Obama was going to give up 5 top level Taliban terrorists in the trade
    c) had no knowledge of "a" or "b".

The people who supported making a trade in order to bring Bergdahl home, did so without knowing all the facts.,, Facts that for many people, including myself, would have resulted in withdrawing their support for the deal that the president made.

You may be a progressive, but you sure as hell aren't stupid... You knew all of this when you attacked republicans, but chose to lie anyway. That is simply pathetic and speaks volumes about your moral character and the validity of your beliefs.

Oh what was the other famous Rice Sunday morning thing? Oh yeah. That turned out to be true <cough> as well.

Rice seems to be the go to person to force feed the desired narrative on the Sunday talk shows.

A sure sign that the narrative it's little more than Obama and administration unicorns, wishful thinking and above all pure, lying bull****.
