Iran isn’t providing needed access or information, nuclear watchdog says

Aren't there currently sanctions already in place? One of the key points of the deal is whether sanctions end or if they gradually decrease over time.

There are ILOR :2wave: But they eased them off with the promise of these talks. Which allowed Iran to conduct business despite that their economy was tanking. BOs own team members busted them skirting the Sanctions with Turkey and their Gold for Gas Scheme and let them slide.

Now Irans wants all sanctions off. That's even after getting busted again.....for trying to obtain parts they aren't suppose to be trying to obtain. BO backed off filing the complaint to push for this bad deal thinking he would be Historic.

We'll see...I'm curious to see how this deal will be different than the one the Bush administration proposed when they first took office.

Oh, you mean that Bush Jr wasn't able to stop Iran from enriching? That was all the while thru those UN Inspections that Iran continued on with their enriching in violation of Treaty even going into 2009? Is that what you are referring to?

Still concerned about Bush...

Interesting, during the Bush administration is when the UN got involved and agree with his commitment that Iran should never have the capability to make nukes.

Your guy has gone 180 degrees AWAY from that and now says it's cool for them to have the ability to make nukes.

Thank you for pointing out that George W. Bush was a smarter and wiser president, he at least convinced the rest of the world to go along. Your guy has to destroy allies to get in the door; and you wonder why you lose wars under this dolt

If concerned about Bush you mean that history goes back past 2008..yup...sure...guilty as charged.

As for the rest, you can parrot that that deal makes it cool for them to make nukes but that's just factually wrong.

And how successful was he? The fact is, the current agreement would actually set the Iran nuclear program further back from creating a nuclear weapon. Under Bush Iran opened it's heavy water reactor and the IAEA approved a resolution that reported an absence of confidence that Iran wasn't furthering it's nuclear program.

The French wouldn't have came up with counter proposals going all the way back to when Netanyahu came to give his speech. Stating Bo's deal was giving up to many concessions. They would not do this for no apparent reason. There is the question of why BO tried to keep the French's Counter Proposals on the downlow. Especially knowing it would eventual come out and rather railing on Netanyahu.

Moreover, nothing has been stated on the type of Centrifuges Iran will be using. I believe Simplexity pointed out the differences with what Iran could use.

If, in fact, this is Iran's position, it is abundantly clear that Iran does not wish to reach a reasonable accommodation. Instead, it seeks to retain enriched fuel and rejects a solution that would provide it fuel rods for a civil nuclear energy program, as such an approach would limit the risk of weaponization.

So they’re digging in their heels on issues that mean everything and preparing to give ground on relatively minor issues—but not yet, and not until they see how much more the Americans are willing to give.”

Previous concessions by the United States appear to have motivated Iran to push harder on issues such as the possible military dimensions of its nuclear program, as well as continued work on advanced centrifuges and increased sanctions relief, according to a second American source apprised of the demands being set forth.

“Iran has successfully dragged the administration toward their positions to attain massive concessions, and, sensing that kind of weakness, they are seeking to press their advantage to gain further ground on critical points,” according to the source, who added that on the sanctions relief front, Iran is seeking a rollback “without dismantling anything.”.....snip~

If Iran believes the U.S. wants a deal more badly than Iran does, Iran will press for as many concessions as it can achieve. I believe Iran has reached that conclusion.

From the onset, the U.S. should have created the perception that it does not need an agreement to achieve its goals, but would be willing to consider a serious agreement that meets the IAEA's and UN Security Council's terms. That way, if Iran wanted a deal, it would understand the need to make the substantive concessions required to meet the international terms. Now, that opportunity is gone, as the U.S. appeared too eager to reach a deal.

A weak deal will very likely be achieved, with far more concessions having been granted to Iran than would otherwise have been the case, and the requirements set forth by the IAEA and UN Security Council likely won't be achieved. A UN Security Council vote to accept a final agreement, assuming it is reached in June, would reset the landscape as far as that body is concerned. Nevertheless, the reality will be the same: Iran will be able to enrich at least some uranium and it will be able to conduct R&D in atomic energy, even dual use areas that could cultivate knowledge with military dimensions.

It appears BO is only concerned about how he is viewed DS. He is not at all the least bit interested in which Domino he knocks over.



But widespread opposition from lawmakers in both parties has forced the White House to begin considering a potential compromise with Congress if that helps Mr. Obama achieve his top foreign policy goal, officials said.

“We’re open to talking to Congress about what they might do, how they might be heard on the Iran deal and how they might play an oversight role,” a senior Obama administration official said. “Some people in Congress will certainly want to take some vote.”

While a coalition in the Senate, including some Democrats, was pushing for more financial penalties in an effort to win additional concessions from Iran, Mr. Rhodes told attendees that lobbying against more sanctions wouldn’t be politically effective. Instead, lawmakers had to be challenged on whether or not they supported another war, he said at the meeting.....snip~

One thing people need to quit doing. Is trusting anything said by BO and his Team. Like this part about working with Congress. Actions speak louder than words. Any now coming out for Team BO is there to only deflect and, mislead.
