Ted Cruz going on Obamacare

Now you've gone and done it.
You've said the government should provide healthcare to everyone.
If that's not bad enough, you've called it a basic human right .

Sarcastic? X.D.

I'm the reason your philosophy that is rooted in slavery hasn't completely consumed this country. I'm the reason this country has any freedom left. Do inspire to be more than a sheep to the collective will, and for the love god, learn the importance of individual will.

If you want to help the poor and needy then you have something you find important and should see it happen. It is not my duty to see that your desires come to bear fruit and it is not in my interest to spend my money on whatever desire you dream up. The government has duties and one of those is to act in the peoples defense. They have no duty to make sure you have food on your table of to make sure you don't die or whatever illness you might have.

"Hail Hitler! Love live the Fuhrer!"

Seriously, dude. You need to take a hit of the leafy green and mellow out before you blow a gasket. Chill....

No one is forced to get on obamacare's plans! Why do people keep saying this, it's just preposterous. I want the government to provide healthcare to everyone, as it is a basic human right, but that's just my opinion based on my compassion for other human beings.

Oh...I know you want the government to be everyone's mommy and daddy. That's the Socialist way, after all.

The problem is, the cost is too great. And I'm not just talking about money.

Examples of democrats doing this?

See here.

The initial Grassley amendment would have required Congress to go through the exchanges for their health care. Reid nearly screwed everyone in Congress with his slapdash rewrite of that amendment.

People here can make all the excuses they want. That he took ACA because it was the law, the this and that, it's all BS. The fact is he had other options besides ACA.

One option is no insurance. And I could say that no insurance would be the best option for him and his family. And then he'd just pay the fine. But then if something catastrophic happened I could be like the GOP candidates at a debate in 2012 who in response to a question at the debate on what to do with people with no insurance when a person in the audience screamed out 'LET HIM DIE' and not one of the Republican candidates in that debate seemed shocked nor did any correct the the person who said that.

But I'm not that heartless.

Ah, again, I don't ascribe to either party, both do alot of stupid stuff, but the GOP is far more insane and hypocritical.

The cost is too great? "Virtually all of Europe has either publicly sponsored and regulated universal health care or publicly provided universal healthcare. The public plans in some countries provide basic or "sick" coverage only; their citizens can purchase supplemental insurance for additional coverage. Countries with universal health care include Albania, Austria, Andorra, Belarus,[49] Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Georgia, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Moldova,[50] Monaco, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal,[51] Romania, Russia, San Marino, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Ukraine,[52] and the United Kingdom.[53]"
I want the government to help those who need help, not be everyone's "mommy and daddy" that sounds ridiculous and is a pitiful attempt to attack my position. What cost other then money?

He wasn't required to get obamacare, HUGE difference.

Indeed, I feel like the point's being lost here--he ought to be commended for not passing on the best available option for his family as some sort of craven political ploy (just because the fact of what that option happens to be--the dreaded Obamacare!--is politically inconvenient for him). Family above politics--that's good!

How DARE that bastard follow the law and pay the correct amount of income tax!

 what a hypocrite.

Hey. Just to check and make sure, all the people on this thread who have come out in favor of Single Payer are also refusing to take private healthcare coverage, right? Everyone in favor of higher tax rates donates to the Treasury?

No, we don't. The government is not there to innovate, explore space, or to feed the poor.
Defense is actually a power of the government and it exists for that purpose.
Are you willing to delete all the technological advances from our space program?
As soon as fusion comes on line within the next ten years, we will soon after be climbing the "stairway to the stars", from BOC .

But then his next sentence was he still wants ACA repealed. So IMO then he needed to go another route. There were other options.

I was as calm as can be when I made that post.

What relevance does that have to single player health care?

I can't believe this.
He declared his candidacy yesterday saying he was going to repeal every single word.
It may be mandatory, tho I see no reason he couldn't get private insurance and pay a penalty if required. That would be more consistent with his politics until now.
No, this is not April Fools, this is a real headline.

Next to the word hypocrite in the dictionary is a picture of Ted Cruz.

Can someone besides a liberal or a socialist explain to me why people think breaking the law is an acceptable choice?

Consistency vs hypocrisy perhaps?

Hypocrisy on what? Private healthcare is essentially the only option for the most part, and what does donating to the treasury have to do with anything? I'm in favor of taxes that scale based on wealth, I don't see the connection with donating to the treasury.

Who is saying breaking the law is an acceptable choice?
