We are here to show our compassion after this terrible accident.

We have mobilised almost 300 firemen, numerous people from the national gendarmerie - 300 of them. The first on the scene were the mountain gendarmerie, who know how to operate in this environment.

We have around 10 planes, and helicopters.

The violence of the crash leaves us little hope. However, we have all the resources at our disposal.

The efforts are being coordinated by the prefect.

Yes it was quoted from the article though DP quotes weren't put around it.

I sure am hopeful we'll find out the mystery of why this plane went down. Cockpit recordings, discussions with air traffic control and black box info should provide information as well as the crash site itself. I'm sure within the next 48-72 hours there will be a rough estimation of what happened and a public statement. The French are reportedly very good at crash investigations (at least that's what CNN stated this morning) so it shouldn't take too long.

Apparently it crashed in a very hard to reach place, this will make recovery much harder, not to mention the investigation.

Yeah, I was being sarcastic. A certain attitude grates on me.

When you heard of this, was your first thought about terrorism? What's it coming to when about 150 people die and you hope it was a simple accident.

Incorrect formatting, I assumed she was talking about her nation. Not my fault, oh well.

Terrorism was 2nd actually - first thing I thought of was icing and as a result, a breakup. I remembered the A320 had issues of that before... Second was a shoe or underwear bomb that decompressed the cabin causing the plane to go down.
