So wouldn't that mean the executors deserve to die?
It's the difference between justice being served, as opposed to the taking of an innocent life. The murderer takes the life of someone who has done nothing to deserve it. The executor provides the means of justice being served when that innocent life has been taken.
"God is the name by which I designate all things which cross my path violently and recklessly, all things which alter my plans and intentions, and change the course of my life, for better or for worse." -C G Jung
And that is why the death penalty is a bad idea, because however you put it, it is just simply revenge and revenge is never a good idea. You want justice to be impersonal and objective. And I think life in jail is just as effective and just as much punishment as the death penalty (if not worse for the offender).
At last, a civilized human being ...and this is the way a man should be, rather than being a savage ..
