Have actually enjoyed some of his movies but not all that crazy about his religion, but for the life of me I can't imagine hearing President Tom Cruise.

He can possibly influence elections, but he'll never be a viable candidate for the White House in my humble opinion.
Not really. That is a position Santorum would not disagree with, and Santorum was second in line in for the Republican nomination three years ago. What ends Carson's chances is his resume, not his position on homosexuality.

As for Ted, you can say with some degree of certainty that he will not win as President of the United States with the current resume. He only got into office in 2012. You can even have the inclination to believe that even with time Cruz may not win the nomination with an improved resume (my own personal inclination). However, when Cruz steps in (and may continue to step in down the road), you still have to pay some amount of attention.

I hold absolutely no confidence in Ted Cruz as a politician and find him little more than a demagogue who holds the title of Senator. Nevertheless, you can't automatically discount his chances in the next few to several years. The only way you'd be able to do that is see where the wind blows after 2016, because if a Republican becomes President, Cruz will have to wait quite a long time to sit in the Oval Office (a decade after a Republican's first term is a somewhat conservative estimate, but also fairly established in history).

Like, two Huckabees. Give me two Huckabees or Santorum's smug mug and a half. Just don't make me listen to Cruz.
Cruz will lower the integrity of anyone else on that stage

But make no mistake, santorum is as much a fanatical religious zealot as cruz

It doesn't matter. He won't win in Iowa nor New Hampshire which puts him far behind the 8 ball too early in the process. But I welcome him entering the race. There should be a lot of candidates for a nomination. Just because the Democrats have already basically handed their prize over to Hillary Clinton before she's even declared doesn't mean the GOP is as stupid. They'll put their candidates through the paces.

The DNC has not crowned Hillary.

Would you really expect any Party chair to suggest that their numbers are thin?

He's announcing first because he knows he'll be among those to drop out first. This is a branding exercise.

Agreed..... First In, First Out. Except, I think he will be too stubborn / lacks the social graces to know when it's over. Actually, its over already.
