Gowdy asks Clinton to turn over email server for review

I must say, I expected this to happen at the beginning of the week, but better late than never. It will be interesting to see what results from this.

Gowdy asks Clinton to turn over email server for review
    By MATTHEW DALY
    Associated Press

WASHINGTON (AP) -- The chairman of a House committee investigating the deadly 2012 attacks in Benghazi formally requested Friday that Hillary Rodham Clinton turn over her email server for an independent review.

Rep. Trey Gowdy, R-S.C., sent a letter requesting that Clinton, a likely Democratic presidential candidate, turn over to the State Department inspector general or other third party the server she used for official business while serving as secretary of state. The aim would be to have a third party determine what records should be made public.

"Though Secretary Clinton alone is responsible for causing this issue, she alone does not get to determine its outcome," Gowdy said in a statement. His request to turn over the server is "in the interest of transparency for the American people," Gowdy said.

Clinton has pledged that all her work-related email will be made public but has acknowledged deleting thousands of messages related to personal matters. Clinton has said the server "will remain private."

I wonder what program Clinton has that did overwrite/erased the deleted emails?

She could have also used an encrypted server and no one will probably ever find the "deleted" emails.

I don't think it'll happen. Unless, of course, the house actually subpoenas the email server itself.

We know that Holder and his DOJ, or will it be Lynch by then? Either way, sure as ****, neither are going to be doing anything with this case.

There are tons of them out there on the Internet as a free download. Any one of them, run repeatedly enough would do the job. A job that's beyond Hillary's capability (I'm pretty sure), so she'll have to contract that out, but who would take that contract given the media coverage that's already out there?

The more she fights this, the more she sinks her presidential aspirations. If she really wanted to make a break for the better, turn the server over now, complete and intact, and let the chips fall where they may. But I'm pretty sure that goes against every fiber of her being, every fiber of her character, and every fiber of her past history as well. So a long drawn out battle it'll probably be.

    Now I'm confused.

Clinton has pledged that all her work-related email will be made public but has acknowledged deleting thousands of messages related to personal matters. Clinton has said the server "will remain private."

A Clinton spokesman said Friday that when all her work emails are released, "it will offer an unprecedented opportunity for the American people to see for themselves that they are all there and then some."
But Hillary claimed, over a week ago, that all of her work-related emails HAVE BEEN turned over.

(3:10 p.m.): Pressed on whether Clinton turned over all of the relevant emails to the State Department, Clinton claimed she did more than what was asked and only personal communications were excluded.

So which is it? Have all the emails been turned over? Or, are there still more that need to be turned over?

Mycroft, that's just Hillary being transparent. Better get used to it, if she becomes president. It'll be a continual diet of the stuff.

All the more reason that this particular inquiry needs to be vigorously pursued to the logical conclusion, which, in my mind anyway, the turning over of the private server, in tact, for forensic examination by an impartial 3rd party for review and report of the emails that have been deleted, and that haven't been deleted.

Yeah...Hillary must be forced to come clean. That's the only way this double-talking BS that she and the Obama administration can be laid to rest.

But I wonder if there are any Hillary-supporting forum members out there who can tell me...have they all been turned over or haven't they all been turned over?

If she has to turn over emails then ever single congressman/congresswoman/federal government employee who has ever used a private email account before H.R. 1233 was signed into law should as well.

I'm not seeing them being even able to make that assertion one way or another.

We do have what Hillary already publicly said, which is that she deleted 30,000 emails already, potentially unrecoverable until proven otherwise.

The mere fact that she deleted these 30,000 emails already raises sufficient suspicion of wrong doing to warrant a criminal investigation, to my mind.

    I agree.

But, it appears that Hillary doesn't agree.

Anyway, are you a Hillary supporter? Can you help me by clearing up my confusion?

And I know.... You cant make someone do something when the action many disagree with was perfectly legal... Hell I think she should be forced to turn over her emails, and I think many other should be forced to as well to the national archives.... But I wont sit here and say "ohhh she has to because of the law!", when clearly she doesn't, because the law wasnt in place.

**** no I am not a Hillary supporter.
