    Re: Mandatory Voting

Honestly, I would go along with this simply because our current system isn't working very well. To continue being honest, many of the supposedly "informed" voters aren't all that much more informed than the indifferent voter. Misinformation is rampant, as neutral journalism is rare, and misinformed people are just as qualified to vote as ignorant ones in my view.
Might as well give mandatory voting a shot, and make election day a holiday while we're at it.

Not voting is your right. The more people turn to enforcing their view of the right way things should be, that are induced compulsory behavior, the less freedom and liberty we have. I guess for some, that whole tyranny thing has merit too.
Climate, changes. It takes a particularly uneducated population to buy into the idea that it's their fault climate is changing and further political solutions can fix it.

    Yeah, we call them Republicans.

What do you think? On the one hand, many died for our right to vote. Everyone should vote in my mind. However, should you have the right to not vote if you dislike the candidates?
Of course, one big thing is.. well Obama never said that. He said 'Let's make voting easier', and then talked about Australia having mandatory voting as showing how things must be transformed, but say 'Maybe it's time for mandatory voting' is click bait and a distortion.
No one needs a war more than a Politician who is low in the Polls.

Oh, we've been having this argument on the other thread about this since four days ago.
Freedom of speech is not freedom from criticism.

I wasn't aware the Obama lied to start an unneeded war that cost trillions of dollars, and thousands of American lives. Oh wait. it wasn't him.

I don't know. I can't find where I said he was different from any other lump.

You're obviously in the wrong thread, this one's about voting.
"He who does not think himself worth saving from poverty and ignorance by his own efforts, will hardly be thought worth the efforts of anybody else." -- Frederick Douglass, Self-Made Men (1872)
"Fly-over" country voted, and The Donald is now POTUS.
