Netanyahu poised for third straight term as Israel PM after chief rival concedes | Fox News

Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu began working Wednesday to form a coalition government with nationalist and ultra-Orthodox Jewish parties after his conservative Likud party scored a resounding and surprising victory following a fractious election campaign.

Netanyahu said that he had spoken with the heads of five other parties that he hoped to bring into his government, adding that he hopes to complete the delicate task in "two to three weeks."

"The reality isn't waiting on us," Netanyahu said in a statement. "Reality isn't taking a break. The citizens of Israel expect us to quickly put together a leadership that will work for the sake of the country's security, economy, and society as we promised to do, and that is what I will do."
Frankly I thought maybe Netanyahu wasn't going to win. But then the average Israeli probably looks at him differently.

Some of the reaction in this country led by the rhetoric of the current occupant in the WH shows just how anti Israel many in this country are. Israel is the best Ally the U.S. has in the Region and the country closest to being a democracy yet Obama and his Administration continue to show their incompetence as well as true colors. Is there anyone here who can honestly claim that Radical Islam wants Israel to exist? Looks to me like we have a lot of radical Islam supporters here in this country as well.

Leave it to Constipated to make it about Obama.

You really don't understand leadership, do you? Why didn't Obama give the Netanyahu speech to Congress and why hasn't Obama done more to support Israel? Apparently you have a very short memory, Arab Spring! ISIS!

Are you referring to the 47 signers of that Iranian letter that sides with their hardliner's? If so, I agree.

You may have noticed that the thread is about Netanyahu, and not Obama. Actually, you apparently didn't notice that, so here's a hint: it was about Netanyahu, not Obama.

The question remains, why didn't Obama give the Netanyahu speech and send the letter to Iran? You think that the billion Muslims are going to allow Israel to exist if Israel put down their weapons tomorrow? Radical Islam is the problem not Israel.

It is about the future of Israel and their relationship with the U.S. With Obama in the WH that future is bleak. Netanyahu is a leader and Obama doesn't understand the concept. Netanyahu remains in power much to the WH's chagrin. I am sure you support the WH trying to undermine Netanyahu by supporting his opposition.

Obama giving that speech wouldn't have helped Netanyahu's reelection campaign. He wouldn't have wanted Obama to give it.

In what way does it 'side with their hardliners?' Or are you just repeating the latest talking points from your MSNBC masters without thinking it through on your own?

We will never know but what we do know is that the WH isn't very happy today. Why don't you ask yourself why?

Netanyahu's opposition are just other political parties in Israel. I guarantee you that if you had a Labor government in Israel and a Republican President, that Republican would be trying to support Likud in any way he could.

You and I both know that in 2 years there will be a Republican President. As far as the relationship with Israel goes, Obama's a lame duck.

You also ignore that under Obama we continued to give them $3 billion in military aid annually and with their most recent attack on Gaza, we also resupplied them as well. US support for Israel has not changed a bit, even if there is antagonism between Obama and Netanyahu.

I'm glad you brought this up.
I've been meaning to ask.
Who in the Iranian leadership ISN'T a hardliner?

So you think that all Muslims are the same?

By that logic all Christians want to bomb abortion clinics.

Yeah, he didn't support Netanyahu's reelection. I don't see what the big deal is.

You all like to crow about how Israel's a democracy, but apparently the fact that they have elections and opposition parties is news to you.

It does side with the hardliners as neither the hardliners here or in Iran want a deal to be reached.

Hamas is rocketing Israel from Gaza.
Think that could be a problem?

You're just repeating what you heard.
Again, I ask who in the Iranian leadership isn't a hardliner?

That's false. If the hardliners in Iran (who run things) wanted no deal, there would be no deal.

False. The Ayatollah is the Supreme Leader. He makes the decisions. Please do yourself a favor and learn about how the Iranian government works.

Oh i read what you wrote and i got the implication, which was "we gave Israel aid despite their attacks on Gaza".
It wasn't very subtle.

Nope. What I said and what you think I said are to completely different things.
