Moscow mystery: Questions persist about Putin's whereabouts | Fox News

The more his people seek to assure the public that Vladimir Putin is just fine, the more speculation swirls that something - a love child, terminal illness or some exotic Kremlin intrigue - is up with the Russian president

Rumors about Putin range from speculation he is sick or even dead to whispers he is about to become a father. Normally in the public eye on a daily basis, Putin has not been seen since March 5, and has canceled several engagements. Three photos released by the Kremlin, of a meeting purportedly held on Friday, only added to the mystery. The pictures showed the Russian strongman meeting and shaking hands with the head of the Russian Supreme Court, but western media darkly noted that the date the photos were taken could not be confirmed. Some noted that a calendar normally seen on his desk, and which would have effectively dated the photos, was missing.
So what does everyone think happened to him? Vacation? Coming out of the closet?

A photo on Twitter showed Mr Putin with the Kyrgyz president

Mr. Putin appeared this morning in front of reporters with Kyrgyz President Almazbek Atambayev in St. Petersburg. He told reporters "Things would be boring without gossip." He also ordered 40,000 troops in northern and western Russia to be put on full alert early on Monday as part of snap-readiness exercises according to Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu.

Russia's Putin reappears after 10-day absence

They say he had the sniffles. I am tempted to say that the man had a meltdown of sorts. I am not shrink, but observing him and his actions makes me wonder.

The man hasn't been seen in public in 10 days and it is an international mystery? More like a blessing IMO.

Obviously an imposter, his suit doesn't seem to fit right.

So is it settled, the mystery over?

I don't know, but has it ever happened to your knowledge that an American President disappeared for a week and nobody would say why?

100 days would have been better.

Roosevelt disappeared for quite a while in 1945. Went aboard the USS Quincy at Newport News, Virginia and sailed to Malta where he conferred with Churchill (Malta Conference - February 2, 1945), then flew with Churchill to Crimea (Yalta Conference - February 3-12, 1945), then flew with Churchill again to rendezvous with the USS Quincy off the coast of Egypt (King Ibn Saud Conference - February 13-15, 1945) and then sailed back home on the USS Quincy. Secrecy had to be maintained to protect FDR from German air/naval attack.

That is right, now that you mention it, I remember.

Do you think Putin was absent for similar meetings? ;)
