You have elections every four years so in what kind of crackbrained alternate universe scenario do you envisage this ever happening ?

Your rabidly extremist mindset is the best possible advertisment I could ever have for my position and why nobody like you should be allowed near a gun.

Thanks for providing such an illuminating example

And you and I both are very well aware that what you see as a right is not what others see as a right. And we both know there lies the problem.

And I suspect you also know darn well that has not a thing to do with DISHONESTY but you simply use the term for political effect as it affords you the chance to NOT have to talk about the real issues and you can stay safe and content with battling your own familiar strawman.

There are two novels that can change a bookish fourteen-year old's life: The Lord of the Rings and Atlas Shrugged. One is a childish fantasy that often engenders a lifelong obsession with its unbelievable heroes, leading to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood, unable to deal with the real world. The other, of course, involves orcs.... John Rogers

Allow me one little word in here Flogger. I like much of what you say. But the one thing I would like to add here is that Turtle seems like a very responsible gun owner. He trains. He practices. He teaches others about gun safety and usage. If what he says here is true, he takes the steps to keep his guns safe.

Yes, I disagree with him on the political issues with guns. But to say he should not be allowed near a gun I think is really not a fair evaluation of him.

I would prefer that he not be allowed near a computer keyboard.

I find the display such 'armed' political extremism in what is supposed to be the worlds leading democracy disturbing. If he was alone in his beliefs he could be dismissed as just another lone crackpot, but given the evidence on such threads as this he is far from being so. I think its something your society needs to address given the arsenals such people want to have and how easily they dismiss the consequences for society of so many others wanting to have them too. I suspect there are many Sandy Hooks lie ahead for the US and the incomprehensible tragedy is that nobody cares and nothing will change when they do

Please DO NOT judge America and out people by the extremism you see voiced here in carefully controlled gun threads designed to make it look like the extremists are the majority. That is part of the tactic and apparently its working.

Let us all hope there are not any more Sandy Hook type events in store. I am convinced that even if we had one a month - there would have to be at least two years worth before anything was actually done about it. Gun politics is that strong here.

But lets all hope we never find out if that is what it takes.

It is not going to happen. The far right wing in this country deludes itself into believing that they can have an extremists revolution and the police and military will join them. Not going to happen. The rest of the nation will stand by as the far right crazies are dealt with and brought to heel like mad dogs.

Do NOT be fooled by such macho bragging as its all show and no go.

How exactly will they be "dealt with" haymarket... do tell!
I think if Thomas Jefferson were looking down, the author of the Bill of Rights, on whats being proposed here, hed agree with it. He would agree that the First Amendment cannot be absolute. - Chuck Schumer (D). Yet, Madison and Mason wrote the Bill of Rights, according to Sheila Jackson Lee, 400 years ago. Yup, it's a fact.
