The guns your criminals use were once legally owned . And your guns make suicide that much easier to successfully commit. As long as the guns are safe though who cares about the victims of them right ?

so why does Japan have a higher suicide rate than the USA. I am not going to piss away my freedom to appease those who allowed it to happen to them. Your pathetic attempt to try to make gun owners feel guilty for something they have no responsibility for is not going to work.

Then if that is truly a serious flaw in our legal system change that law FOR EVERYONE - not just rigged to politically pay off gun manufacturers and dealers.

Oh I know its not going to work, just as I know gun advocates are very much collectively responsible for the lethal consequences their obsession has for tens of thousands of US families every year.

you are avoiding the obvious question. why should people be able to use frivolous lawsuits to bankrupt industries they don't like?

so you are admitting your arguments are based on a cultural hatred of people who think firearms ownership is a good thing. sorry, we reject your attempt to smear us with guilt based on what criminals do. that your country engaged in collective bed wetting over dunblane is not something rational adults in this nation are going to stand for

I gave you an answer. Frivolous is in the eye of the beholder. The Constitution of the USA gives all of us the right to sue in court. Do NOT deny that to us because of political payoffs given as special favors.

No irrelevant was the word I was looking for. Even if I grant that all firearms were designed with the express purpose of killing things it's still irrelevant because killing things is often legal. Because it is legal to use the firearm for it's intended purpose the mere fact that someone uses it illegally is not the fault of the manufacturer.

so if the court throws the suit out-as the courts have done with the vast majority of those suits, should the plaintiffs have to compensate the gun makers for their costs? Do you comprehend the fact that its still legal to sue gun makers for product liability or if the gun maker knowingly supplies guns to prohibited persons?

what other industry is sued when its product is not defective?

Yes indeed. As long as its somebody elses loved ones and not yours that are the victims of your next high school massacre why should you care ? As long as your guns are protected thats all that matters right ?
