You can throw in the fact that his Dad [who is now a citizen] was working for an American company in Canada.

    Where did I say that?
Born in Kenya? Wasn't that Michelle Obama that said that?

I don't understand why Obamatrons still get mad when this is refrenced since it comes from the Obamas themselves. What's Cruz's middle name?

Post #s, 9, 19, 23. I am sure there are more, but it should be pretty evident what I said.

Which should have been evident when I replied to your post in post #36. When I replied that no "there you don't have it" that would mean the post to which you were referring was wrong. Which I had corrected them one post before replying to you in post #35.
Like I said, all you had to do was read what was in this thread.
That's as confusing as anything. Are those three men eligible to be president or not, just give me a yes, or a no! Please.

    Just give me ... nothing.
It was posted where you could find the answers.
Your asking after receiving the reply you did in post #36 is astonishing.

Immigrants to America have long referred to their country of origin as their home country. As those immigrants achieve citizenship here, and have children, and grandchildren here, they all become natural born citizens. It doesn't matter where Obama's father came from, Obama was a natural born citizen. Did Ted Cruz's parents immigrate to the US, was Ted Born here? If he was then he has the same right to become president as Obama did.

    She provided you faulty information.
Congress realized their error and corrected the mistake and the language was changed a short five years later in 1795 to just "citizen".
How does this answer my question to Excon? Does Excon believe that John McCain, Barak Obama and Ted Cruz are eligible to be president of the United States, or not? Just say yes or no!

Re: Lawyers say Canadian-born Cruz eligible to run for president

Nobody cared about where Barack Obama was born until the Hillary Clinton supporters said he wasn't born in this country.

The issue of where Ted Cruz was born was only ever important to the people who oppose the idea of Ted Cruz being elected President.

I find that and the old 'one drop' laws particularly offensive. Traces back to a MASH episode during my childhood I think, when they discussed black people dying because they werent admitted to 'white only' hospitals and were, in that case, not given blood transfusions to save their lives.

Hence the old expression, a "compliment"....you are 'passin', meaning you could pass for white. It always made me sick to my stomach to hear it and read it after that as a kid...and adult.

Most excellent rant. The "one drop" was a key point of the plot of the musical Showboat too.

One just has to look at how Pres. Obama is treated to know he is considered black, not white.

Heck, the new show on Comedy Central - hosted by Larry Wilmore - I look at him; and he strongly identifies as black; and I personally think he could "pass" as white. But he hasn't tried. And good for him.

A canadian would actually be the better choice since 90% of the canadian population lives within 100 miles of the US border anyway and are likely more atune to US politics.
He isn't Kenyan, so your point is totally off-target.
