F.C.C. Sets Net Neutrality Rules

He knows that, he's just making a stupid comment. Just like Excon and Travis007, they are mad that their predictions about what Cruz said didn't materialize and now they are saying, "Just wait!"

so show me where its close ended that ther can never be a tax...

show me... we have shown its open ended and it can happen..at any time.....

Wow, you mean things can change at any time. What a revelation! Go back to sleep old man. You're just pissed off this news isn't bad and you have resorted to idiocy.

Yea ok.. you tell yourself that...as I will laugh...needless to say youre a wealth of misinformantion...FORBES knows a little about this subject..you sadly do not... like most libs.. just sheep to the slaughter

Net Neutrality Is Setting The Stage For Internet Taxes - Forbes

snip...
Public utilities are taxed at a higher rate than other property taxes

By reclassifying Internet services as common carrier telecommunications services, states that tax the tangible property and equipment of public utilities and regulated telecommunications services can now tax the property of broadband service providers. Public utilities are taxed at a much higher rate than other property taxes, which means that broadband costs and prices will increase with states never having to pursue the more challenging course of securing legislative change. In addition, if states consider “intangible” property as taxable, wireless providers may also see the value of their spectrum taxed, which is worth well over a hundred billion dollars, and at higher property tax rates on utility and regulated telecommunications services, compared to other business property.

Another major risk is that state and local governments will not discern what portion of a broadband provider’s plant and equipment is solely used for Internet connectivity. They might simply designate all of the firm’s property as “mixed use” and subject it to the full taxation as regulated telecommunications property. Therefore, broadband providers that provide video services, information services and other lines of business (such as applications and cloud computing services) could have their tangible and intangible property for other lines of businesses taxed at higher rates and under a broader base, exposing the entire business to these higher costs.

so Cruz was right...and I am also..

cmon...step up..

by the way that article in FORBES is FROM TODAY

It's never happened because the minute people started making such proposals, other people started to (successfully) campaign for policies solidifying net neutrality. Thank God.

Yeah. Thats it.

Youre post is a troll to me and youre simply not wanting to see it..

Travis, why are you afraid of letting these fools who claimed that we'd see higher taxes come forward and tell us where they see the taxes in these rules? :) Why haven't fools like Ted Cruz jumped all over these rules to show us where the taxes are? We know the answer, don't we? ;)

Three posting in a row boils down to, "they might tax it someday." :lamo :lamo :lamo

:doh
Clearly you know not of what you speak.
Nor have you given time for full effect of the classification, which is pretty lame to make such a claim at this time.

Just what do you think "for now we do forbear" means?
Let me clue you in, classifying it as they did still opens it up to be taxed. Or did that skip your attention?

As increasing Government involvement is what occurred, Obamacare for the internet is pretty much a relative comparison.

I won't argue with someone who has to perform mental gymnastics to defend something that has been debunked and proven wrong. Have a good one.

:doh
The only mental gymnastics going on here are your premature assertions.

The premature (and quite frankly, baseless) assertions made were from the anti-net neutrality camp. Even now with the reality of the situation shown to the world you still refuse to accept you were wrong. Move on.

:doh
Holy ****!
:naughty
No, they were from you.
Again, what did you not understand about "for now we do forbear"?

It proves that classifying it as a Class II Utility opened it up for those fees to be assessed, exactly as we were informed.
And proves your above statement to be baseless in that regard. Or in other words, a direct and deliberate lie.

guys, even if it does happen, the current federal tax on wireless is 5.82%. The average internet bill is around $40 I think. We are discussing $28/year.

This is really a big concern even if it did happen?

Before Obamacare I didn't have any insurance. Now I have a policy. I love it. It only took a few hours on the Internet and now insurance I can afford. Like I said, I love it.

great.. send me a gift..

I say we overload the system Cloward Piven style.. that would be great..

soon your Dr will be from Pet Smart...but it will all be equal..

why didnt you have insurance? was it too hard to sign up for Medicare?...were you denied coverage at an emeregency room?...

Nope, I'm discussing the FCC rules explicitly. I want to see where the new taxes are. That's what was claimed was going to happen. Where are they? Let the fools come forward and show us where the taxes are. :)

Obama is wiping away student-loan debt and passing it on to us. There's a tax I didn't expect to have to pay.

This will be much the same. It's coming.

Lol, what does that have to do with the FCC rules? :)

It was an analogous point to how deceptive government can be when it comes to hidden taxes and costs.

Travis, it hurts to see you struggle so much. I wish there was some way you could find all of those taxes you said would come.

Travis, can you or can you not show the taxes? Or is this the usual conservative voodoo economics and conspiracies? More taxes will come! When? Soon! You'll see! Bruahahaha.
