Remains found after 11 service members involved in crash off Florida coast
Some human remains have washed ashore near a Florida military base after seven Marines and four soldiers in an Army helicopter crashed overnight during a training mission, a military spokeswoman said on Wednesday.
A spokeswoman for the Eglin Air Force Base on the Florida coast said the military is still investigating the crash and did not say how many remains have been found.

"This is still considered a search and rescue mission," spokeswoman Sara Vidoni said, adding "heavy fog is having an impact" on crews' efforts.

Media reports citing senior U.S. officials said the 11 service members are presumed dead....

Most unfortunate loss, thinking of the families and fellow service members...

Indeed - RIP all and my thoughts and prayers are with the family, friends, and colleagues left behind.

Here in Canada, we are mourning the death of a brave Canadian soldier, killed while on duty in Iraq assisting the Iraqi and Kurdish Peshmerga troops in training, who along with three other Canadian soldiers were mistakenly shot at by Peshmerga troops last Friday.

Those in the military are often out of sight and out of mind until tragedies such as this hit home and remind us.

God bless them all.
