LOL! Just so you know, because you don't seem to, his racial makeup is not open to debate, or what you really wish it to be. He is what he is, with a white mother and a black father. That is a plain, cold fact.

This is a great example of the liberal mindset at work. 2+2=5 if they say it over and over enough, facts be damned.
    Here's a quick test:

A few decades ago, how easy could he get a taxi?

How about this one: In 1958 Selma, would he have to use the "Colored" entrances?

Bonus question: If George Zimmerman saw him walking down the street, how would he describe him?

Using your standards there are hardly any black Americans in our country.

Yes I understand the significance of the event, but that doesn't mean I let the sins of 50 years ago define the reality of today. It doesn't mean I look at our great nation and see the blood shed on that bridge and think ?Man what a ****ty country we got soooo much to over come!" I look at today where I served under black officers, male and female and NO ONE THOUGHT TWICE ABOUT IT. I have friends and co workers whose skin color... just doesn't ****ing matter. I have neighbors who I greet that happen to hail from lands far and wide, whose skin, heritage and social norms are not mine. And no one I know gives two ****s that they do.

We care: Are you good, honest, law abiding folk who try to be the best you can be? That's it.

What happened on that bridge 50 years ago, was a terrible tragedy, what happened today was proof we've moved past such stupidity. Only those who cannot see the past as a guidepost and instead are defined by it, are the ones that need help, the rest of us just want to move on.
Okay. So, what was the BS that got you so upset?

Maybe most of us are just past racism and tired of the BS. WE'll never forget, but it doesn't define us.
I certainly didn't describe my experience of the 50th Anniversary event as a defining moment for me. After all, unlike President Obama claiming that his conception was the culmination of his parents coming together as a result of events that occurred in Selma, AL 50 years ago, I was only 2 years old when the march across the Edmund Pettis Bridge took place. So, until learning about it during history class many years ago, the event no more defines me than slave owners of the past and the brutality that some bestowed upon their Black slaves would define you today. So, what BS from what was said or done at the Selma 50 year anniversary event has you so pissed off?

Is is it the fact that once again this date in history is being celebrated and the fact that it acts as an annual reminder of wrong doing troubles you? If so, why? I mean, we remember fallen soldiers on Memorial Day every year. We remember Pearl Harbor and 9/11 every year. We even celebrate our nation's independence on the 4th of July every year. Why does this day that essentially is just one more day that reminds people to "never forget the wrongs that were committed, yet celebrate in the very fact that 'we have overcome racial hatred and bigotry'" to a large degree bother you so?

If what you've posted above is true and that you do embrace people of various racial and/or ethic backgrounds, the only thing that should anger you is when people don't recognize the wrong that was committed and refuse to recognize that many people have gotten past the hate.

Well, my standards are just plain, old facts. I know those are a thorn in the side of the left, but too bad.

Well, it's not a really big story, and not controversial. He went to a commemoration of Bloddy Sunday events. A worthy event. Another day in the life of a U.S. President, esp. a part black one.

Yes plain old facts, as you are using them, establishes that the vast majority black Americans are also white Americans.

As long as you are being consistent and this is the position you hold then so be it.

It should be noted that using your standard of usage renders the terms "black" and "white" useless - seeing that technically the majority of people we refer to as "black" or "white" often have in their genealogy other races.

Are you talking about people that are mostly black, and have other races mixed in? Because I am not. I am talking about Obama, touted as the first black president, who is just as much from the white race as he is from the black race.

In my opinion he is not the first back president, that is reserved for an actual majority black person that gets elected president.

So you are moving the goal post?

I was talking about the vast majority of the black population in this country that have white, i.e. European, genes in them.

You are the one who wants to be meticulous about this. If they are part white then they are part white - that has been your sentiment. It is a fact after all.

Genetic percentages vary no matter how close a relative of a different race is. You can have a black mother and white father and end up with more genetic make up from your father. Making your genetic percentage primarily white.

    Very good.

    No how many antiploice protest?

I think you'll find it's more then 4 in 2 years, yet the number of blacks shot by police is a fraction of those killed by other blacks.

    That was the real point.
Look who is changing the goal posts. You originally challenged me to find marches and protests against black on black crime, but now that you have them you suddenly want to change up.
