Alaska Republican's solution for homelessness: Wolves - CNN.com

"Washington (CNN)Alaska Republican Rep. Don Young offered an innovative proposal for addressing the problem of homelessness in America on Thursday: Release the wolves. According to the Washington Post, Young made the comments during a House Natural Resources Committee hearing on the Interior Department's budget. "How many of you have got wolves in your district?" he asked his colleagues "None. None. Not one." "They haven't got a damn wolf in their whole district," Young added. "I'd like to introduce them in your district. If I introduced them in your district, you wouldn't have a homeless problem anymore."

I'm not an expert on wolves, but I don't think a wolf knows the difference between a homeless person and a non-homeless person. I am almost positive they would eat anybody, but again, I'm not Don Young.

Re: Release the wolves.

I don't quite know what is more horrifying, a rabid pack of wolves eating homeless people or the fact a rabid pack of people voted for a guy who would release rabid packs of wolves upon them.

Re: Release the wolves.

Headline is a bit sensational - apparently he was trying to made a larger point:

A Young spokesman told the Post that the "analogy was purposely hyperbolic to stress the point that these predators pose serious threats to wildlife management and their listing has damaging impacts to local communities."

Still not sure that what he says has anything to do with that argument but whatever, it's just some dude saying some random ****.

Young is so vile. I've not liked this guy for a very long time. To the point... bragging about not having homeless and saying its because of wolves... REALLY? How about what homeless person would think... "I have no shelter... Alaska sounds great!" in the first place?

Re: Release the wolves.

Would probably cut down on school truancy as well, but....

Re: Release the wolves.

Never let the truth get in the way of a good news story. Maybe they're having trouble generating traffic over there at CNN.com.
